There used to be 2 options (box office collection or post). I always opted for box office collection. Then I'd either pop over one lunch time when I was in the general area or at the next home game. It all worked well. There's no need to tamper with the ticketing system to accommodate what used to be there. Now they have unilaterally removed this option and are trying to blame the host club, which is unfair and untrue. If there are really uncollected tickets that end up getting sent back to the host club, so be it. If it means supporters who opted to collect from Plough Lane then didn't, then tough luck on them. They had the option to have them posted out. The club want people to travel to away games but are making it more inconvenient to do so for no justification other than laziness or profiteering.

If they were really concerned about uncollected tickets and no means to collect them on the day, clearly state on the ticketing website or OS that any uncollected tickets from Plough Lane will not be available at the host club on the day and anybody without tickets will not gain admission. I simply don't believe this is the real reason.
Can’t remember the last time I had an away trip without some sort of train disruption as well. The last few caused by “passenger behaviour” delaying connecting trains and the time I got that bloke nicked for assaulting a female member of train staff. I would blame the parents but this guy was older than me.

Even on the way home from Plough Lane on Wednesday we had to wait for the train driver to arrive regardless of how many times I offered to do it. Go/Stop. Easy.
Also, I have about £12 credit on my ticket account but there's no way of using it for the Stockport ticket. Maybe you can only use these credits for home games (not much use for STHs unless you buy cup games or merchandise)

6M€M, I agree. Wonder if tickets will be available on the day @ Stockport if you're anti £3 surcharge

away games just getting too much of a pain, can't firm up date/time until four weeks prior = more expensive hotel & train costs plus being stuck behind goal with my poor eyesight
I've had mixed results recently 6mdm but you're right if the club hasn't posted the ticket out (and therefore I have to collect it at the ticket office at the away ground) then charging £3 for doing so is probably breaking a rule and so someone should be looking at that closely. I wouldn't mind if there was an extra tick box 1- collect at PL. 2 - post ticket at £3. 3 - collect at away ground for £0. That would be fairer as I understand the team drop off some tickets at the away ground for every game regardless.

Have to balance this out with the fact that the ticket office team have always been very responsive by phone/email whenever there's been confusion. But a few times now I've paied my £3 postage and nothing's been sent out. That's dodgy ground.
The ticket office are being a real pain in the arse over posting out tickets now. The decision not to send tickets out is theirs and has nothing to do with the host club. The excuse that a lot of tickets remain uncollected is a smokescreen. If a supporter opts for collection and does not do so, that is their problem. It is not a justification to remove this option for everyone else. They did it for Stevenage tickets when there were TWO home games after purchasing the tickets to do so. There are TWO more home games before Stockport too (Orient and Peterborough). In 2022/2023 Stockport issued e tickets so why is that option not available now? Anyway, I can't see how it takes any more time to put a ticket in that box they use for people to pop in and collect compared to posting them. Also, if they get lost in the post they have to waste time sorting it out with the unhappy supporter, as well as causing this supporter unnecessary stress. Processing season tickets is no justification as it is not as if they will be doing that much processing as they will not be issued for another 5 months. Poor. It feels to me that is does not cost the club £3 to post out tickets so it is an opportunity to skim a bit more money from supporters.

The ticket office are normally very good but for this matter they are not acting in the interest of supporters.
Beating Blackburn away was probably the biggest team we have beaten away from home. Former PL champions.

Answering my own question, it seems Blackburn were in League One in 2017-18, when we were too.

Nick D: we've been in the same league as Blackburn, as AFCW? I have no memory of that, i must confess. To an earlier post, I think our only AFCW game against Brentford was a cup game (LSC, from memory, at Griffin Park).

Stockport (away) tickets are postage only (£3) like Satanage. Bizarre message in our ticket section of the OS claiming collections are not available at the request of the away club

spartan - not played Brentford in the league as AFCW
I think we have only played 6 teams in the championship as both WFC and AFCW.

I would say that Sunderland (and possibly Brentford) are the only premier team/teams that both incarnations of Wimbledon have played in league games.

Which teams in the top 5 divisions have played both WFC and AFCW in league games. You can probably discount most of the premier league teams and quite a few in the championship.
