Costing just £2 each, current and past issues of The Historical Don will be on sale from outside the club shop before the Harrogate and Salford games. Covering every on-field kick of the 2013-14 campaign when Neal Ardley’s men made a good start before a spring slump and a points deduction led them to flirt with relegation, the current edition of the magazine celebrating all things yellow and blue also recalls several victories in the long battle to turn the greyhound stadium on Plough Lane into a permanent home. Many past issues are also available along with a pictorial history of the Dons - come along and have a browse!

Trigs, a long time, we don't toe their line, and when the odd volunteer posts, they normally remind us how toxic this place is.😂

Not you Rib you no longer count for anything whatsoever. What an utter specimen you turned out to be - once you got the votes you wanted - utter c.
Percentage wise it depends on whether motions are decided by the % of those who vote or % of members. It wouldn’t surprise me, based on how Michelle behaved in the lead up to the last set of motions, that the rules are changed without anyone having any say at all.

Trig - eh? Nick - I guess differently, but who knows, because they're not bothering to do a minimal level of insight work to get an indication of what season ticket holders would do if they had Trust membership foisted on them.

Fwiw a few years ago when we did ask non-Trust members why they weren't members it was because they weren't interested.

There is “a type” on the DTB (and sometimes MD and CEO etc) and we haven’t managed to rid ourselves of that type yet. They’re busy right now committing stuff but are benefiting from a general “it’s entertainment not sport” attitude to lower league football. Hey ho. I support the club not the evil bastards currently in control of it.
My guess is that if we make DT membership the default with a ST this will reduce the proportion of members who debate and post on ProBoards etc but will mean that there are more DT members who will prioritise the success of the first team over more peripheral issues and will come out of the woodwork to vote when there is a big issue out there, which won’t necessarily be a bad thing.

KD - I don't think it's fear. It's explaining the consequences of the proposal. If that's what the board wants, they should front up about it. If it's not what they want, their proposal is foolish.

But either way, what membership organisation would introduce a fundamental change to how membership is sold without a vote of its members? It's overreach by the board.
Scaredy cat, scaredy cat, sitting on the door mat.

So we've established that I'm not scared of selling out and I'm in favour of more people posting on Proboards. So maybe accept my actual reason, that I believe we need to get more engaged members (elections, 50%+ turnout in elections, 30%+ voting online or in person at AGMs/SGMs) and this distracts from the DTB's failure to achieve such engagement and instead introduce changes that are likely to reduce the level of engagement.

Agreed. ‘Selling out’ is not black and white, in any case. There are 50%+1 shades of grey…

Well not worth rehashing all the arguments that have made people agree that selling out won't happen any time soon other than going bust.

Is it due to be repaid any time soon…?
Depends on the issue, doesn’t it. On the workaday issues most still won’t engage. But if all ST holders had a vote on fan ownership, well, that might be a scary prospect for some.

Not really, as everyone (except you?) has admitted the only way the DT ownership will end in the foreseeable future is through going into administration. The supposition that seems reasonable is that people who have known about the DT and not joined but now join because benefits are offered and/or they didn't tick a box will not be particularly engaged. If you have evidence of the opposite it woould be interesting to see it.

That’s just supposition though, isn’t it. I suspect you and others are against this because you realise that most fans who actually watch the football aren’t true believers in the fan ownership creed.

Yes I don't want to sell out but adding all these uninterested ST holders will actually make it less likely that we'd sell out as it would become even harder to meet the requirements of a restricted action.
