Stuart- you clearly have your view on this and I have mine- neither of us are going to change, so I will leave it there. In the scale of things- with the club nearing administration- none of these sorts of issues are going to matter much anyway.

Again Nick you’re making this personal to an individual. Passes are allocated to volunteers based on the role they do. All volunteers have guidelines to stick to regardless if they are a volunteer or a paid staff member. We are all normal fans surely just as one member, one vote?

Stuart- but that comes back to the fact that someone (I recognise not you) decided that Laurence (who has historically been involved with the press side of the club, not just a random fan) couldn’t now have a valid pass, so again it is someone “deciding” not to allow Laurence access (whether for good or bad reasons I can’t judge, but I certainly wouldn’t exclude it being for unfair reasons). As OI points out, the recent incidents around the election have totally (for me at least) demolished the idea that the club will act fairly in any situation with someone outside the “gang” - once you lose trust like that, it is gone.

The problem is that there is a perception that club/DT powers are used in personal vendettas. It may or may not be true though the evidence seems strong in at least one case but it reflects a poor atmosphere typical of organisations going through some sort of crisis.

To be clear Nick, anyone without a valid pass with access too press box is not allowed in. It’s the same if you or I tried to get into hospitality if we didn’t have a valid pass or ticket.

Making it personal is what we do well. We are all equal aren’t we £
Guidelines will identify who is and who isn’t a security risk - someone actively chose how to classify Laurence for that purpose- it didn’t just “happen”. So the question of why he is seen as a security risk is a valid one, even if one doesn’t know the answer.

I didn’t say he was individually A4E but guidelines are for everyone, not on individual.

In what regard is Laurence a “security” risk?

OI, there was no such thing as a pitch being too wet when I played. I loved making slide tackles from "20 yards" away.

Fully aware of all these Laurence but ultimately security can over rule all of this and set the guidelines we follow.

Sometimes we all forget that we are no longer at KM where people could go anywhere they wanted. We all have to follow the rules no matter who we are and how long we have supported the club.
Must've seemed like a comedy sketch, old Tony(deaf) and me(deaf) standing under one of the KM tannoys, trying to have a chat.

Padd - yes, you might get posterior capsule opacification (PCO) after cataract surgery, as my sister did, but the treatment is very good, safe, and effective, as it was for my sister - she went from moaning a lot about her poor eyesight to non stop cheering about how great her eyesight now is… 🥳👏

RK - Can see you'd find that alarming. Our optician has advised Colin to pay privately for a particular surgeon, as she doesn't want novices practising on his complicated eyes. Mine are just your bog standard rubbish old eyes.

Also Stuart, it is why STs sold in the first three rows in front of the press box can be withdrawn for larger games where demand is greater than 36 seats in the PB. Hence the free standing chairs within the PB. Further the separate room downstairs for media use complies with all security needs - appreciate flood impacted that.

The full set up complied with Championship Level, which was the business plan I was asked to create before agreeing the design on the media facilities of the stadium.
As I said George and I are there to adhere to the instructions provided to us and failure to do that will see us removed from volunteering which we both enjoy.

Don’t forget that people have lots of equipment that is valuable and that is a consideration.
Away matches, when we're stuck behind the goal, I haven't got a scooby on what's going on at the other end.

back to fanzines.
what sort of security, Stuart? :o) This is the official definition: the press box is considered a secure, working area in EFL stadiums, governed by specific regulations to ensure safety and functionality for media personnel. EFL Requirements: Under EFL regulations, home clubs are required to provide a "secure, level area" for media, which includes the working area, press seats, and data seats. Security & Access: Access is generally restricted to accredited media and authorized personnel to maintain a working environment. Conduct and Safety: Cheering or showing favoritism is strictly forbidden, and individuals violating these rules are subject to ejection by security personnel. Protection: Press boxes are designed to be safe, sheltered environments that protect media members from adverse weather, crowd noise, and potential distractions. While it is a secure, monitored area, it is primarily defined as a "working area" rather than a restricted, high-security zone like a stadium control room.

Our press box has complied from day one, and fails to need any extra controls prior to a match.
I've been warned about cataracts developing plus recently diagnosed with glaucoma in my good eye. Apparently, the opticians who warned me about pending detached retina have reversed their decision. Can't say I'm 100% on that

Thanks Pete. I had both mine done nearly two years ago and all seemed well, but apparently in a third of cases a film developes over the new lens. Thought something was amiss when I was doing our Christmas cards. I have super strong reading glasses for drawing and I was having to use a magnifying glass as well. Still couldn't see properly. Got to have laser treatment. Colin is having to have his done at about the same time and can't drive etc. We're both pretty grumpy. Weather too rubbish for log-chopping, gardening etc. Can't see to draw or read. On a cheerfuller note I now have hearing aids and where we live putting them in is plugging yourself into birdsong.

If a player gets 10 yellow cards before end of match 32 they get a 2-match suspension. If a player is booked in 32nd match but then gets a 2nd yellow in last minute, then rather than get a 2-match ban, they would only get a 1-match ban.

That’s a security led instruction Laurence and not set by myself or George.
