OI - I wouldn’t say extreme! But genuinely look at the number of transfers completed every year and think how many have actually made a real difference? Very few.

They got to be Old Atheists Nick :), the Atheist Leaguie was always a poor relation though! What happened to Old Athenian, I miss him?

They were too extreme also but atheism/humanism is alive and well.
That sounds extreme Nick, do you think the league positions would stay much the same if teams only played people who'd come through their youth system?

yes many transfers are pointless or negative but you can only decide on them in hindsight (AAH just a Wycombe reject?)
On a totally unrelated note, whatever happened to the New Atheists?

You could tell even just in his first few mins at Luton that Orsi was hungry to do something good with us. Just not up to the standard. Nothing wrong with that rather have players like that than like Appiah.

Jervis another example of how the overwhelming majority of football transfer business is completely pointless. Players are much of a muchness with very few actually strengthening or weakening a team.

Orsi was on a hiding to nothing as we constantly play the ball in the air and not to feet which is is strength. Had a chat with him after Doncaster away on the train and he was a really genuine guy, he’d scored a brilliant goal but it was disallowed for a marginal offside, don’t think modern players get the MK thing, it’s just a job for them

So many duds back then it was a painful time. The dud:good loan signing ratio was poor.

I was quite happy when we signed Jervis, as he'd looked good against us (for Plymouth?). But yes, he turned out to be a dud.

Who was that random guy we got on loan a few seasons ago - think from Luton, who didn't score any goals until he randomly scored against Wycombe and did the cupped ear celebration to us. I can't remember his name. Anyway Orsi was basically him in another body and I think Orsi also did the shhh celebration when he scored one of his few goals for us. Maybe we shouldn't sign ex frannies because unless they are Al Hamadi level it will be hard for them to win over fans regardless. Anyway Orsi is gone and in a season or two i probably will forget his name like the bloke who cupped his ears at us at Wycombe.

Oh I went with the American internet trend of paying homeless people to punch each other. But again, wherever your thoughts went it’s cool with me ;)

Bit of a bumfight down the bottom of L2 with Creepy, Harrogate, Barrow & Newport seperated by just 3pts

He still wasn’t a lazy player though like we had across much of the team in L1 squads previously.

In other news, Orsi has now started 11 games for Crawley with a return of absolutely ZERO goals. How did we ever sign this bloke ?!
Browne obviously...

My gut is saying that we will buck the trend and win by the odd goal in 3, brown double.

Ahead of kick off I would gladly take a draw today. Won’t even be too upset with a defeat. A win would be not displeasing.

Morning all. For those of you with mothers still around don’t forget it’s Mother’s Day tomorrow.
I have still got a Dons 4 Div 4 Sticker on an piece of furniture with a glass front that now lives and is very useful in the garage. Those were great days

I thought the bloke to the right of the mayor in the OTD picture was Grouty out of Porridge. Bob Lord was probably still smarting over WFC knocking his team out of the FA Cup a couple of months earlier.
