I sincerely hope that over the next 5-10 years they increase their £87m investment five fold and walk away, having sold the club for £400m+. I'll be delighted. As a result they will have brought success to the club. Absolutely nothing wrong with people aspiring to and actually making money. Id much rather have the club driven forwards on out and out self-interested capitalist motivations than any pretence of philanthropy.

If this deal passes the football regulators - it will be his money and make no mistake £87m is a large and significant amount of money for all but a tiny amount of people within the UK.

Trigger- to me it is very reasonable to ask about the existence and reliability of the £87m, though that is really the lawyers and the regulator’s job and they both have way more powers and sources of information on this than we do. The other side that DrMir seems a bit low profile and not much is known about him, isn’t a problem for me - I would much rather have someone who is relatively quiet than a Hannah type telling us we are all his children before selling us out. My take on this is that Dr Mir really just wants to be part of the great and the good in this country- hence all his royal-linked and establishment charity involvement, so the absolute last thing he is going to do is crash a football club and kill his reputation. I do respect that others are more sceptical than me on that though.

Gonna argue against myself here and say that yeah the youngsters seem the most “hell yeah let’s go” about the whole thing and I can understand why - they’re more interested in watching us win games than all the rubbish about who owns the club. But they’re also probably not so concerned about future effects given their joyous youthful naivety. BUT… I have myself said that it’s impossible for anyone to know how this deal plays out.
