Is it just me that was unaware of the cyber attack on TFL last month, and the fact that personal bank details have been compromised? [Link]

Just came across that article. I received a very unusual 'one time access code for your account' email from TFL on Sept 22. Didn't even realise I had one, maybe set up for an oyster card decades ago.
Plus a lack of nominees for recent elections and a number of board members stepping down before their tenure comes to an end. Celebrate the shoe-horned-for-your-purposes numbers all you want but we can all see that interaction with and trust in the DTB is in quite significant decline.

A4E - especially keen for Williams and Kelly to get best quality game time whenever possible. Both have the potential to be great for us - but not quite yet!

Scotty, there was an issue with 5 year st holders not being included in the membership lists.

By the way can anybody explain that as of 30th June 894 had been members since 2002. But on 2nd October that number had increased to 1082? Logically, it can't have increased surely? Perhaps the ST opt-in has brought another 200 original members back into the DT after having left? But if so, then the category as printed is a bit misleading.

Start Piggott & Stevens. Bring on Kelly at 60m. Bring on Bugiel if required. Tilly & Hippolyte should start. We have a good squad and should use them, especially as we are playing 2 games a week for a while. Kelly & Williams to both play 90m next Tuesday in MMC.

A problem we have with the current DT approach is that the majority of members are aged over 50, and that is even after the automatic ST membership. That is incredibly high (U16's are excluded from that count)

There is a real danger that very soon we won't have enough board members. Younger generation (with a few exceptions) will have little interest in meetings that resemble the Vicar of Dibley without any comedy moments. How many times do we need to be told that those voting before the recent SGM hadn't actually voted yet.
Biggles - But are they engaged members? That's the point.

It's dying. Clearly.
Trigger. Thanks for the link. The club sent an e-mail the same day. They could have updated there. Equally they gave an update on the OS on 3rd October, so no reason not to have put the Twitter comment there as well.

Dying Trust? Lol! Nearly 700 new members this year who have never been members before. Quite apart from those given membership with their season tickets.

"Dying forum for armchair fans" would be closer to the mark.
Morecambe have (like us) only lost a League game this season by more than one goal once. But of course they have yet to visit fortress Plough Lane. 6 straight home League wins. Scored 18. Conceded 3. Last conceded 9 minutes into the current season.

Good point - we are defo getting thrashed at Vale, so might as well risk Omar getting a hammy or a red against the bottom side in the division and then just roll over on Saturday rather than use tonight as an opportunity to start a couple of players who otherwise might not start all season….. 🤪

If we just only accept advertisers with predominantly black brand visuals it might be ok.

And ban flashing - side hoarding adverts should not be allowed to flash. Sack the hoards.
Everyone should bring a torch to out night matches to improve the visibility. And turn those fucking electronic advertising boards off

Agree with those saying put your best team out - I don't think we're in a position to be taking any teams for granted. Morecambe are one place above us in the away form table (only Newport, Accy, Colchester and Carlisle are below us) but we do sit happily top of the home form table.

Best team out tonight 3 points is 3 points whoever the opposition and highly unlikely we will get many points at port vale.

3 points and goals tonight ready for a battle Saturday
And I know there'll be some who say "how was I supposed to find out about this if I'm not on Twitter or chose not to follow the club's Twitter feed?" Well, what do you expect them to do? Email you directly to the email address associated with your ticket purchase or account?

So hopefully all sorted by end of play tomorrow.
Scotty, I still have not received a refund a full month on. However, I don’t need the money urgently so not a biggie. The thing that had peeved me is that it shouldn’t actually take this long .

The waiting continues
I'd be more inclined to rest Bugiel at Port Vale than tonight. For whatever reason, he seems to be much more effective at home than away. Tonight is also realistically our best chance of 3 points this week, so I'd want to go with the strongest team we can. Morecambe are not great but have been competitive in pretty much every gameand won't make it anywhere as easy for us as Carlisle did.

Morecambe have drawn with Bradford, Fleetwood and Notts, as well as beating Barrow so far this season.
Interesting debate around the DTB. From my POV, you can't polish a turd. I've been all for fan ownership until recently, where it has become evident to me that with the increased demands now we're back home, part-time people on the DTB simply can't do the job properly. From big egos and cliques, to incompetence and an ageing membership, it's a dying trust. Let's be honest. It has been amazing and we'd love it to rise again, but it feels like it's the beginning of the end. Something big needs to happen, that's for sure. Right now, we're in a rut and it doesn't feel like the DTB can ever be fixed and we've essentially hit our ceiling. Most fan-owned clubs realise this in time... maybe we're next?

I wouldn't just sell to anyone, but we'd certainly be an attractive proposition should we be open to offers. The fact is, I'd rather hand the club over to someone now than see it stagnate or even decline under our ownership. It's our responsiblity as owners to look after the club's future and the modern game and it's riches have to be factored into that. Can we really compete? I don't think so. Is the DTB (and even the PLC) enabling us to reach our full potential? Nah. You can't polish a turd.
The Morecambe keeper used to play for frannies so we can wind him up a bit for entertainment purposes
