Bought something for the missus yesterday (or tried to). Don't often use Paypal, but it comes in handy sometimes. Anyways, Paypal's new security system cut in and wanted my mobile phone number. Said this before, but being deaf I don't have a mobile, so therefore couldn't supply them with a number. I wanted to request they send the code required to complete the transaction to my email account, but there was no option for that. In the end I had to give them my wife's mobile number (which defeated the idea of surprising her with something). Quite pissed of with Paypal now.

Beats me why people don't just phone McD's and get it delivered.

Oo er missus!
RK, donald drumpf and his family have money in at least 3 funds that hold investments in the manufacturer of HC. If you want me to I could possibly track down a verified source for this.

Although tbh I'm working on brushing up my SSAS tabular model stuff so probably wouldn't be too arsed to do it right away.
What are the queues like at garden centres though?

I don't want to send the head gardener if it is a long wait ;)
You can easily make a burger or buy one on a supermarket and add the things you want. Stunning that people are hooked on McDs but good to see the economy starting to open up ....

Welcome back to the real world Shergy. Alcohol is wonderful but it’s not a particularly effective long term strategy, sadly.

Days like these I find it very hard to not crack open a cold beer when I get home but I really feel it these days in terms of the effect on my quality of sleep and then the sleep deprivation on my enjoyment of life in general. I value my sleep immensely.

Spit & CW, not going to lie, when I am safely and sensibly able to get a McDonalds again I will really, really enjoy it - but queuing for a drive through for that long - to discover you've probably not got half your order anyway - nope doesn't appeal to me.

I went past that queue earlier, sad reflection on how desperate become that people are queuing in baking heat for an hour to get a Big Mac

Windie I wouldn't disagree with that and add to the potential view of our coaching set up and when you throw in the implication that we're barely a L1 club and our squads don't contain great senior pros (any more) it probably does put off some of them. Funny thing is we've had players, like Seddon and Ramsdale, who probably benefited massively from it.

IMO the main reason we may struggle to get decent outfield loans is that we’ve been fighting relegation for the last few seasons. Clubs do not want to have their precious cherubs’ confidence damaged by playing in a team that is struggling.

Although NHS and other key workers are rightly getting plaudits for coming to work, I must confess it is nice to get out of the house and interact.

Saveloy my own opinion for outfield, we know we don't have the best facilities and we know we've not got a lot of coaches - I've heard positives about AB and the goalkeeping from GK coaches around (they seem to all know each other anyway so good word spreads easily).

Lurks - is that your sense/opinion of our reputation, or actually something you have heard from coaches/players?
20th May 2020 13:03:26
[86.lo.gg.ed]
Not disagreeing, it's my sense too given we so rarely get good loanees. But for me it's just a theory!
RK I'm on day 68 of lockdown - finished working at work on 12th. Our place are not talking about looking at anyone going back in until September and my area I can't see going back til next year. It could be another 215+ days before I'm working with others physically in the same building.

I think/suspect loaning us potential players would require a significant change in Chelsea's policy. Partly what they want from the club but also their loans seem to be very much a business venture as well, we couldn't finance a 19/20 year old potential top level striker on loan.

This may not be popular but potentially the reason we haven't historically got better loans is our structure/reputation. We have a decent reputation on the GK front, we get decent loans. Our squad has a reputation for being injury prone, we have a reputation for being limited on the training facilities and the coaches. There are plenty of other league 1 clubs that can talk a better game than us for outfield players. We could do with someone like Forss making a big set up the way Ramsdale has to sell us.

I certainly wouldn’t mind Chelsea loaning us a young star striker of the future, a la Harry Kane/Orient.

Re the guardian article I wouldn't mind exploring a closer partnership with Chelsea but aside from loanees, not sure a) what else they could offer b) what else they'd want in return.

I would think we'll be a more attractive place to send youngsters with the new facilities/pitch at plough Lane anyhow.

I see that the "big" clubs seem to think that they are more deserving of finishing the season. There is a reason that they aere in the same division as us and Tranmere!

If the club cant be bothered to send me the Season ticket email, I might now change my mind on a refund. Always get the if you cant make it to a match email to let the club know.so why not this one now !
