Yiadom is playing as Sweeney and Ogundere are still injured and the other options are Horan and Simmond both youngsters plying their trade. The least worst option.

The problem with "going back to the Conference South" is that we need 3 relegations to do so and thus a minmum of 3 seasons including this one. We simply don't have 3 years.

Looking at our bench, investment is much needed. No idea why Yiadom is starting at CB, looks a liability there.

If Charlton are not going to play him is there any chance of loaning Junior Nkeng for the second half of the season. And if the deal goes through any chance of signing Harrison and a midfield general to mentor him?

I think the conversation is academic. It will pass. Noone can come up with an alternative because only the board can do that and this is what they are recommending. I don't believe seeking information and asking questions (me or others) is the same as being negative for the sake of it. They are either genuine or they are not and if not I would like to understand what the play is for them. But the deal is the deal, it is going to happen and there is no getting away from that. If they are genuine, it is a great deal.

I do think changing your middle name in time for this deal (seemingly it's just happened as only the registering of SSC has his new names) is a bit odd. Also why change to two middle names (not one) and why 'Michael Thomas' (perhaps he's his favourite ex-Wimbledon player!)?!

Hash/OI, broadly agree but it's for the DTb to say what the best alternative to avoid admin, is. Accept that the other 20 or so are based on the dame model, retention of ground but takeover of club. I remain in the YES camp until something real comes up. And the %71m capex is key to the way the model works - grow capacity & crowds and make the Club a more attractive option for better Lge One players (training ground)

Just to be clear, I'm not anti the deal. Currently planning to vote for it and actually quite excited about it. I saw us play top flight football and want my kids to be able to see us at a higher level. I've never been a fan-owned fundamentalist. But I do want to check this out properly. I think most fans asking questions are in the same boat - cautiously excited (some of the deal seems too good to be true!) and minded to vote yes but also wanting to ask the right questions given our memories of Hammam and the Norwegians.

I'm happy that people are asking questions and analysing risks. Hopefully we get answers to the questions that will make us feel more positive. But if you hate it, go find the money on better terms or accept we'll probably be in admin within a year. Also, don't think about 87 million, think about 16 million for now.

I do agree that those against this need to come up with an alternative idea, even if that idea is sell plough lane, go back to KM and play in the conference south. Put together a proposal, let's hear it and have a vote.

I've read a lot of the posts on here and facebook and it feels to me that anyone that is negative about the investment had their preconceived opinions and then is fitting the narrative around it. The bottom line is that the club is screwed because we had this romantic idea that returning to plough was the way forward. We cannot afford the ground anymore. I loved the comment from WHAD on the podcast. If you don't like it what's come up with an idea instead. The well is dry, we as fans have not more money to give or don't want to sink anymore more into a money pit. As a fan you need hope and if we vote no all hope is removed for me. I'm tired of all this fan owned fundamentalism and I think moving away from that model is definitely the way forward. For me this was the last resort for the DTB which shows the perilous position we are in. I have no desire to watch non-league football again but let's be honest if the club does sink we can't afford the ground anyway and we'll probably end up selling to Chelsea again..

This post is mere speculation from me but if Omar Mir does not have the money himself we have to look at the fact he is a Senior Advisor with the investment firm General Atlantic who have stakes in other sporting institutions. It may be the way he can invest.

I think the point of real weakness in the deal is possibly a couple of clauses around the commercials. They said straight up in the meeting that they would have no control of the commercial side, but that's not the case. Firstly, if they introduce commercial partners to us, that value can count towards the £87m, ie they don't have to give us the £87m if they can get someone else to. Could be linked companies to them, could be dodgy crypto, could be whoever. And then they also apparently have an absolute veto on us ending or changing key commercial partnerships. So they will be able to tie us to whatever companies they wish (gambling clause aside) indefinitely - not clear if that veto stays or goes in the event of them ceasing to provide funds.

Nick - I have also thought this. Mr Mir has clearly been working hard to establish bona fides with credible institutions over the last few years - collapsing a football club would be highly detrimental to what he seems to be trying to do.

Surrey Bob, he's from Hounslow. Might be from inherited wealth but would be a bit surprised!! I agree that stuff is simultaneously reassuring and slightly unnerving. Still minded to vote yes but would like more detail on Mir's past, wealth and how he made his money. At the meeting the other day, they said they'd seen his bank statements so presumably know he does have this wealth (or that sufficient funds come into his account from legit sources) but there is a suspicion that the money is coming through him from someone else who would be the real investor and if that's the case, I think we need to know that and who that person/those people are. Perhaps it's the King given Mir's links with him!

One final consideration, of course, is that, these days, if you were a shady character who wanted to hide your activities the very very worst thing that you would choose to do would be to buy a football club- thus raising your profile massively and getting thousands of interested supporters trying to find out more about you - it’s not the old days of Robert Maxwell any more.
