DO - I don't think so, I wonder if it was the aforementioned Bernie Coleman. The only other person I can think of is Alan Cooper.

Things I wasn't expecting to learn today... Amanda Knox is doing a comedy show at this year's Edinburgh Fringe.

Brutal murder = classic stand-up material
Also, given his age and that Stockley has only ever played 65 matches at higher than L1 - (PNE) - and not since 2021, it is unlikely that anyone else will try to nick him from us!

Seem to recall that Stockley was one of Vale's main men during the promotion season, and that they did tail off for a few weeks when he was injured somewhere around March time; before coming back and getting auto's??

Yeah he comes across really well and not just because he sounds posh. Remember an early interview with AAH as well where he came across really well. It helps if footballers have a good head on their shoulders and it seems Stockley has that. Hope he can have a good impact on us this season and next, score goals, score headers, generally be a nuisance and help us win football matches so we can be happy and enjoy our Saturdays and the occasional Tuesday evening.

Loved that Stockley interview - I know he has to deliver before we pass true judgement, but he seems to have a really positive attitude, and I loved the “headmaster” nickname…

DO - 12 of the committee were Ron Noades, Adrian Cook, Colin Graham, Alan Boddy, Eric Willcocks, John Sell, Bert Wait, John Reed, Quentin Spicer, Richard Faulkner, Jim Reid, Russell Pulford. I'm still to find the missing one.

OTD - I spy Adrian Cook and EricWillcocks in the photo with 'Uncle' Ron. Anyone recognise the other 6 in the pic?

Bernie was a thoroughly nice guy. Always happy to advertise Dog & Fox in 'Dons Outlook' back in the day. Also greatly involved with Surrey CCC.

Didn't know Bernie owned the Dog & Fox in the village. Sounds like one of the good guys

Thanks Laurence - do you know how he exited the club?

(There's no point or angle here btw I'm just interested given he achieved the big thing of getting us voted into the league.)
Trigger - Bernie was a lovely person and bailed the club out on more than one occasion. Always enjoyed hearing his cricket stories down the years.

Morning all. I wonder if we might be raiding the PFA training camp for a defender or two?

Expect if we add another forward, it will be a loanee.
Question for the older/wiser folk - just read the OTD and have a question. I know that Wimbledon did indeed win a hat trick of titles and did indeed then succeed in getting voted into Division 4 - but how is Bernie Coleman generally remembered and when did his involvement with the club end?
