There is no Poverty in the UK. If you want to see poverty, visit India, Africa or South America. There is relative poverty in the UK - as there is in every country in the world. This is a statistic used by socialists to justify taking money away from those who work hard for it to give to those that sit on their backsides all day.

I wonder if the world cup has a 'knock on' effect on signings or the general lack of them.

Does pre season training start next week?
League One not a hive of activity yet in terms of transfers - a few inter-divisional moves - but yes some news would be exciting. Understandable that players we’re interested in may well have more attractive offers wage-wise to consider. If it helps settle the gut we made our first signing on June 23rd last season (Alistair Smith) and then had a roll on 1st July with Seddon, Bishop and McCoy Splatt. Then there was a big gap til 30th July for Hackford and Asiimwe.

Great fact-bomb from the Beeb last night,.. Iran have the oldest team to ever play a World Cup match since records began.

My two-penneth purely to enrage pollock who had convinced his own tiny blinkered mind that I am a full blooded tory - couldn’t care less about Starmer or whoever comes next. All the parties are the same and most politicians are the same. Don’t expect to see any major changes in how the country operates.
Sky news were reporting it as shock news, perhaps in as surviving as long...

but while we are at it, massively reduced immigration, shorter NHS waiting lists, 500,000 children lifted out of poverty since July 2024. Better than Truss?
Now to remove Khan as the mayor of London. Another one who has got rich from his position and doesn't answer questions.

Starmer fried. Surely in the old days, the PM would be carted off to the Tower of London, never to be seen again. Now we have a lame duck PM sitting in place until September 2026.This is not in any way good for Britain.

Good riddance. Worst PM in living memory. Achieved nothing of note and made the majority of the working population poorer while spending billions on vanity projects. Made Liz Truss look like a genius!

I would also expect either Curacao or Ecuador to be another 3rd place team to go home, but on 1 point. Germany will likely beat Ecuador and Ivory Coast will likely beat Curacao. Again, good for Scotland.

Well done Cape Verde. A fair result. I can see CV beating Saudi Arabia and I'd expect Spain to beat Uruguay, which would leave Uruguay on 2 points in 3rd place and likely to be one of those going home, which will be good for the Scots.

Oxford in their current situation want a manager who has experience of getting a club promoted from L1 and preferably keeping one in the championship. That rules JJ out through no fault of his own.

If his agent is smart he’ll be touting him around L1 clubs whose owners feel they didn’t get bang for their buck last season.
He is not even in the bookies list so i'd say its probably bollocks.

Would be nice if our next manager is someone with experience so hopefully it can wait until we get some investment in
