Yeah early goal made a huge difference to the atmosphere but there was definitely something different about the performance yesterday. Even when they equalised it looked like we could score again which was different to the usual 'this game could go on for the next 756 years and we still won't score' feeling. So crowd got behind players.

We should have enough to stay up, both through the impact of Tilley and Browne, and also the change in confidence and belief. Sounds like reasons to be a little less despairing off the pitch too.

The atmosphere yesterday was far more positive than in most home games this season - apart from the nervous parts when Reading looked as if they might take control, the crowd were properly behind the team, and I think it did help the players…

As someone who is never too reluctant to point out things that aren't well run at the club, I just wanted to mention that I just bought a ticket for the cup game on Tuesday and I thought that the whole process was unbelievably efficient and smooth. From logging in to receiving the ticket probably took no more than 2 minutes. We certainly have got a really good system for that.

Not sure if this was a repeat, but I watched a bit of this last night, and Rick Astley came across as a really genuine nice guy - the final bit where he did The Smiths songs at Glastonbury with the Stockport band Blossoms is so good ☺️👏 [Link]

Oh, Buxton. I was heading to an event near Stockport in 2007/8 when my car broke down not far from Buxton. Green Flag took us to our hotel then got us back to Mitcham the following day.

RK. I'm big into my walking so generally try to stay within 5 miles or so of a stadium so I can walk to and from it so I don't have to worry about my car, which I leave at the hotel. Also, with semi-flexible rates you can cancel or amend bookings. If Stockport get chosen for TV because of their promotion push or the weather is dodgy that is very useful to have. I once did over 600 consecutive first team league games, home and away (from Combined Counties right up to League One) but now I pick and choose the away ones as I go to take in the local areas for a few days as well, not just the games. I'm one of the few that actually liked Barrow as your could walk around Walney Island and Roa Island, as well as stay in a Travelodge across the roaf from the stadium with a Domino's and Costa Coffee next door. I still get well into double figures per season for away games but don't do them all anymore. The last time I went to Stockport it never stopped raining and it doesn't have that much to see.

6€m Man, Prem Inns have got really expensive in past 1-2 years. Try Buxton, pretty town in Peak District and iirc direct train links to Stockport

Thanks for the suggestion Meadow. I've used Booking.com for years (I too get a discount but will often phone up the hotel itself, say what Booking.com want to charge but say I'll go direct with them if they offer a discount, which many are happy to do as Booking.com rip them off). It is always a bit of a gamble as to what you end up with going to an independent hotel. At least with Premier Inn or Travelodge (the latter who now charge extra if you want to choose your room, which is just profiteering), you know what you'll get and there will be parking. I'd only go somewhere else if it was a game I was desperate to see. I've been to Stockport enough times so I'll not worry too much. I've got Barnsley and Lincoln booked, which I'm more interested in going to. Lincoln is a nice place. Stockport isn't, although Cheadle nearby isn't bad.

6m, have you tried Booking.com? I'm seeing much cheaper prices on there although I may get offered cheaper prices as I nearly always book accommodation through them.

2 things have clicked. Tilley coming back and being decent - Jackson knows how to play him, and JT wants to play. And Browne being properly match fit for the first time since he signed. Bringing Tilley back looks like a great bit of business right now. Browne looked like a different player today, and the usual cynical shop window comments don't apply.

I just Googled burnt sienna (what an exciting life I lead, doing such things on a Saturday night in amongst planning accommodation for a few more away trips) and it comes up with different bloody colours, although one of the versions is pretty close to what I saw today.
