Certainly gone big in the “loans from PL sides” market this time. If it goes well we could have a good season. If the outcome is like the last time we tried that route then we are doomed (of course, the key difference is that we now have someone competent in charge of recruitment)

Charlton makes sense. He’s still very raw so a Championship promotion/playoff hopeful is about as high as he could expect without losing all chance of getting on the pitch now and then. I do feel like with his playing style they’ll probably train the joy out of him and/or oppo defenses will work him out. Nothing against him that’s just football. If they can manage him carefully and end up with a polished version then that’d be good to see.
