Sorry for the double post on this - the other thing I take as a positive is that England have been tested more than once so far this tournament. Fallen behind and had to dig a result out. England teams of old often had that defeated air about them when there was plenty of time left to to try - this lot keep trying.

RK - re energy production: the situation is not the either/or that you present. We live amongst a host of retired engineers/ heavy-duty tradesmen who discuss all sorts of more consensual and less punishing alternatives. They are not wicked 'climate change deniers'. They are highly intelligent, knowledgeable, thoughtful old blokes who don't want to see most people dragged back into the standard of living of their great -grandparents.

Unfortunately once the politicians and civil servants make their minds up changing them is like, er, turning round an oil tanker.
Rate our chances 50:50 tonight. We absolutely can beat Argentina which makes tonight’s game very tantalising.

Impossible game to predict especially after seeing France stink the place out last night.
EV all the way for me now - it cost me £2.27 to charge from 40 to 100% last night, which would probably have cost around £25-30 in petrol…

Triggs, first time for everything... In regard the Gas and oil situation, am I missing something, but are the global(or otherwise) price rises down to the ability to not have a supply that's available? Surely the supply and demand argument says that if we can supply it, the price comes down.

Airsy, they will once they turn off the broadcast signal but that is probably a decade or two away at least. In the meantime BBC1 and Radio 4 are everywhere. I had a top floor flat for a few months less than half a mile from the BBC mast and you could get the sound of BBC1 on electrical appliances the signal was so strong.

So do you think we should continue to rely on imported gas & oil at great £cost, or produce our own green energy?

Padd, I think you mean "Maxipus"? On BBC radio Oxy, before the Mexico game they unearthed a goat that had correctly predicted the results of our four previous games. It went for Mexico, so maybe it's now a goat curry ...

Climate change or not, can't see what far right don't like about producing your own sustainable energy rather than spending £bns importing it from an everlasting war zone ...
I’d certainly be happy with that. Save £100+ a year and have it be impossible to see Strictly or anything about it. Bosh.

You'd think in this modern digital/streaming era that the BBC would be able to restrict/block access to their services from the licence dodgers in the way that you can't watch Sky, TNT, Disney,Paramount, Netflix without a subscription.

Well, the climate is changing in one way or another and there's a lot of racism out there. Whether or not the BBC's viewpoint is relevant, or correct, is another matter.

Argentina have conceded goals in this World Cup against Jordan (1), Car Verde (2), Egypt (2) and Switzerland (1). So Kane and Bellingham should be eyeing a goal each tonight.
