Yeah it was an awful story OI. Male guerilla and they said a sedative dart would have taken too long to take hold - and might have aggravated the guerilla in the process. There was no aggression shown but Harambe (the guerilla) did make contact with the child - some debate as to whether it was trying to move it away from the screaming crowd. Either way, a shocking event and an animal held in captivity was shot and killed because the zoo couldn’t protect it from humans.

It’s not a bad thing to not use bird feeders through the summer anyway Pete - some big debate between RSPB and wildlife trusts around bird feeders and pretty horrible diseases which can be spread easily in the warmer months. Takes strict hygiene discipline to keep them safe and for most UK garden birds food is more plentiful during the summer months anyway.
