Anyone know if the SwinDon game is available to stream in UK? (Presumably Sky day pass..?)

We had conflict in the past. One candidate was advised to take personal comments about another out of their manifesto but declined to do so, the ESG, after significant discussion, let it go. The result? The person commented on got re-elected, the person commenting failed. Hopefully that is still a lesson for the present.

Good for you TBK. My understanding is that the closing date was also on the form, not the chase me date.

Aideen, I'm sad you feel like that. I don't think you're right and my recent experience would suggest you're not. I'm finding it fascinating and terrifying in equal measure as I expect you did too.

Biggles - that is a very polarised view..

The email address on the nomination form was correct. I used it successfully as did others. I also chased my application well before the closing date when I hadn't received a confirmation it had been received.

Biggles - you can argue all the other reasons, but giving an incorrect e-mail address then not accepting applications initially sent to that address is not acceptable, and we can argue that to and fro all day.

It was a poor mistake by the trust/ESG to publish a wrong address. That's the nub of it. Very few members take your view, but hey, its not a membership issue is it ...

Stu, the DTB have zero power, zero influence and zero cares about the wishes of the members who elected them. It’s not fit for purpose.

Bert: Bellamy was supplied with the correct email address, as were all the other would-be candidates. He alone was confused by the other "rogue" email address. It was a poor mistake by the trust/ESG to publish a wrong address, but in the end everyone else managed to use the correct one. His failure was down to him.

The FSA thing was one of the biggest pieces of skullduggery and the DTB never apologised to the membership. I lost a lot of respect for that group over that.

How about when the rules are set to be waivered for some and not others? The FSA comments were clearly skewed to present one thing when the meaning was something entirely different... Was the person or persons responsible kicked out for lying? Because that's what they were. If those same people when challenged present themselves as victims because they are called out on it and get the person reprimanded for their audacity to challenge the BS, the actual facts of the matter get glossed over. The DTb and the cohorts that tag along are the same as the TV commentators apologising for the bad language that is heard sometimes. FFS its football and most people have a thin enough skin to let it go, same with this, to many lily livered chumps to stand with their rules is rules nonsense before the rules have been written.

He was never accepted as a candidate.

It's reasonable to expect candidates not to insult each other or the board they want to be a part of.

Biggles - he submitted on time to an address incorrectly provided by the DTB. For that reason alone he should have been accepted.

OI, like the rest of our club the ESG is what we all make it. Fortunately I have heard of two possible new volunteers recently. It's a strange facet of human nature that it often needs conflict to make good people come forward.
