KD - direct election of our reps to the plc board is a must, but I doubt turkeys will vote for Christmas.

We should also shrink the DTB as a whole, should just be the three plc bods plus 2-3 to sense-check them and represent other views.
nicander I'd agree about Little. As said just now, when Biler was RB we had to devote a midfielder to covering him. That generally was either Little (or CLE). Little bailed him repeatedly with little nick the ball type tackles that did a lot to get us to where we were in January. It's the kind of stuff that people don't remember but actually without those 2 covering that right flank we'd have been way off the play offs in January.

On our style of play, a couple of things. One, we played that way with AAH up front. We played long balls to allow him to chase behind. He was a championship level player at L2 level. It worked well with him. We haven't changed it as much as people perceive. BUT the other half of the equation is that we lost the defenders who were comfortable on the ball. So we played a more conservative game and that included playing long balls to Bugiel (who generally wins them) and Curtis (also good in the air). But when they weren't playing it's difficult for L2 players to just change their style. It also doesn't help that our midfield gets split. When Biler was at RB we had to put a midfielder to cover defensively all the time. It's better with Ogundere but not much better. Reeves also spends most of his time in possession facing our goal which you can't really blame the manager for. He comes deep to collect and often things go wrong from there.

We look like a team that plays similar ways before and after January. The personnel changes, including injuries, impact how well we play those ways.
It’s not even just that they’re unelected. They’re bad people as well.

Lurker - Agree with that, but we already have three Dons Trust board members (i.e. reps) on the AFC Wimbledon board. The problem, for me, is they are unelected. Generally I'm happy with the leadership shown on reviving the moribund, wanky, 57 Old Farts DT but there is a democratic deficit without direct election of those 3 DTB reps onto the AFC Wimbledon board.

Given how powerful that board has become, and will become
Reeves seems to have become the new Ray Wilkins in that he can’t seem to pass the ball forwards always sideways or back perhaps he has just lost a bit of confidence or lacking fitness

Little has gone off form, but he's hugely important to us in my view. At his best, he's everywhere and has a v broad range of attributes. Quick, can tackle, creative. Not many of him around at L2.

I don’t think the new system suits Reeves and Little as we seem to bypass midfield and have low percentage of possession as a result, in fact I’d say that’s why our away form has become so bad since the New Year too

DTB needs to become what an owner would normally have, a rep on the boards. We don't need as many people and we don't need th DTB for people to do their pet projects. They can do those without the DTB (I don't believe DLAG waited on the DTB before forming and the bond was started outside of the DTB). We just need a couple of people who are representing on the PLC board and are reporting back. Anything else can be done the same way as now but reports into the DTB not with seats on the DTB.

CW I think that is where we struggle generally. The players we have aren't consistent - otherwise we wouldn't have them. So when they dip the squad is still thin enough that we then struggle to keep up the performances. It's got to be why we have peaks and troughs rather than smooth runs of results.

scotty - have the T&Cs changed so that DT members have higher priority than seaon ticket holders (assuming I buy an ST and opt out)? The nuclear option is to switch to relying on my debenture to get my seat at matches.

My mate Jim was telling me that O’Toole was better than Little at Tranmere, O’Toole then proceeded to have a nightmare ended when he was red carded for a reckless foul!!! Both Reeves and Little have gone off the boil lately which is largely why we have missed out on the play offs

OI - The danger with your "Opt Out Go Up" approach is having funded the club you probably wouldn't be able to watch the team get promoted at Wembley as you'd be so far down (not even on) the priority list for tickets.

RK - If you have an East Stand ST it is truly free. ST price frozen (early bird at least) and DT membership thrown in for nowt.

Nicander- I totally agree on the “need for proper process” point, but I think that the chance of that actually happening is negligible at present.

I'm going slim to none, but happy to be surprised
Can I clarify I meant the DTB needs a reduction in membership, not the Trust as a whole?

Nick W - Whether some winding down of the DT is or isn't the right thing to do (bit of both, probably, it certainly needs substantial change and a reduction in membership), the hill I will die on is that it cannot be right to do any of that without a proper discussion, debate and vote of members on the direction of travel. Breaking it down into little pieces and then not having votes on them just makes them look evasive and/or being manipulated by the plc and/or up to no good.

Away for a few days so I didn't see the SGM. Did they clarify what happens to the 'DTB subscription' when I opt out? If it stays with the club then I'm helping with the first team budget. "Opt out to go up!"

That’s what I have assumed (ie you pay for it even if you opt out), so not really free, more”included in the price of the ST whether you opt out or not”. To be fair I need to read the terms and conditions but even if you can opt out and not pay for the DT cost with the season ticket I don’t see the benefit of going to the extra hassle. To some extent what this will lay bare is that, standing back and looking at the structure from scratch, the DT is a slightly pointless body (ie we need it as a legal entity “box” to own the shares in the club but really it doesn’t need to do anything more and the sensible thing is to find some way of folding all of the governance into that of the club, like a normal company with a big shareholder).

I didn't know it was free until I read Kenty's post. By free, you mean they just add the £15/£30 to the ST price?
