Our two L2 PO finals had the 2nd & 4th highest attendances of all time. Also both were more than were at the europa League final - but who wants to watch 16th v 17th in Prem!!

Pig to retire and Kelly move on to make space? I feel sorry for Kelly he always tried his hardest he’s just not right for L2 level. Drop a division and go score some goals.

CW, it's probably to do with gripping the ball for throw ins

Should have told his mate in the second half.
Genuine question out of interest for people who know this kind of thing - is there anywhere else in the world where you would get 50k people attending a 4th division game? Or is this something unique to English football culture?

Rob, Rovers haven't really got to see the best of any players who have made a mark with us, might suggest their methods don't suit what ours have with players. Not saying it's right or wrong, but in being different club cultures will probably yield different results. That could be due to a number of factors such as location differences or family geography and the mental effects of the move. I'd take Sawyer back based on his playing with us and what he bought to the team

Anybody notice that the 37 year old Walsall sub Albert Adomah, who played against us for Harrow Borough in Ryman league days, was wearing gloves? In late May

We are the rank outsider with BetFred at 80-1 to win League 1 next season - presumably this means we are firm favourites for relegation

I thought sawyers was good from his spell with us. Be interesting about Browne and hutch. I guess O’Toole and ball will go although ball seemed very keen to stay yesterday

Like anything, when it comes to stewards you are dealing with individuals. Some will be good, some will be indifferent and some will be pricks. Walking up the stairs in Olympic Way before you enter the stadium you had a row of them. I walked up those stairs a few times as I went for a wander around the stadium and surrounding area before going in. I had my programme in a bag and I could see stewards looking at it but seemingly just deemed it to be OK. It was only on the last occasion when this over zealous arse hole decided it did not meet his criteria that I had a problem.

Not the first time I've had issues at Wembley. On 1988, on leaving after the game, stewards made us funnel into 2 sides of the road leading to the tube station. My dad and I chose the right side. When we got to the end we had to go all the way back to join the queue on the left because it didn't go anywhere. I'm struggling to remember the layout of the road back then as it is all totally different now.
Morning all. Mark Leadon - the Brizzle Rovers fans weren't impressed with him at all. I guess there'll be plenty of other PFA training camp players who can do a good job at L1 for us

Guess Hutchinson will retire although if he can play he'll be useful next season. Ditto Browne.
Someone who is available is romaine sawyers. Could be worth revisiting

Yes, maybe that's right. Still, it does have a bit more salience when this awful event coincided with our own celebrations. Palace fans may be feeling likewise.

I did make the point about bottle tops that if I could hit any players or opposition fans with one from where I was I’d have a huge career in baseball - which needless to say I don’t.

if you make such things too common they lose all meaning
"Empty your pockets." "Mate, I'm already carrying all the shit for my kid that you won't let me put in a bag, this is physically not possible." "Empty your pockets." etc etc

Nick - it's pretty much standard Wembley policy, ie same applies for England matches. Coat was order of the day therefore, although it was really humid and just extra hassle when going through security. Also lots of free tins of Smints were being given out at London Bridge station, and of course these went into pockets which then just set the beepers off

Will be at Will's testimonial as well. Great day all round, although as others have said not quite the same as 2011 or 2016. Big summer ahead for Cope, it's a pretty big rebuild, like it or not. Smith and Goodman both gone (although perhaps we can sign Smith), Josh probably gone, Tilley, Johnson, Isaac all out of contract, Lewis potentially the most likely sale if we need a cash-in to stay afloat...

If Josh is a lost cause, we have to push the boat out as far as poss to keep Johnson and Smith.
I thought the Wembley stewards were actually really good- very professional and friendly. The bag policy was not their fault (and clearly was as much/more about Wembley cashing in on the £10 storage fee as anything to do with security) and really is just a lesson to me (and others caught out) to read the small print of the policy and to assume that it will be implemented to the letter, not with discretion - basically don’t bring a bag next time- just bring a coat with lots of big pockets if you need things

Just bought tickets for Will's testimonial (sounds like a last will and testament!). Going to be a slightly mixed occasion for him, I would think, coming less than a week after his team since childhood won promotion and the team he's just played for were relegated having gone from 2-0 up to 4-2 down in the play-off final. Presumably there'll be a minute's silence for what happened in Liverpool yesterday too. Still, an opportunity for Dons to come together and celebrate a very successful season (as well as a good send-off for Will).

What a day yesterday was, what a football club we have. Loads of respect to everyone who donated to our Alzheimer’s Society fund raiser. Thanks to donations this morning and the cash people gave us yesterday we have passed the £2000 mark, which is some achievement for a bit of beard dying. We will keep it open for a few more days if anyone wants to push us even further passed our target. Enjoy the celebrations and maybe reflect on how we brought our club from nothing to where it is.

Laurence, I hid my bottle top but they made me spill the water and pointed out there was a refill tank inside the ground, so I could take the now empty bottle into the ground and fill up. I know stewards HATE bottle tops!

As 600ml water was on sale inside the ground for £2-99 - one of my better decisions!
