I also enjoyed the comedy nights at KM. Was a big fan of Milton Jones back then and felt it was a shame when he started doing the Mock The Week dirge. understood his reasons as he went from the smaller more intimate London comedy circuit to bigger venues and fair enough. Mark Simmons is pretty good nice gentle comedy done well and you just can’t beat Stewart Lee - as long as he doesn’t have too much political stuff in his act.

Saw his Stewart Lee vs The Man-Wulf thing late last year and it was very good. It’s nice to have a laugh.
Just my little bit of optimism before heading up norf tomorrow morning.

Was gonna say the same Spit about events in general in January. People’s December pay packets stretched as far as they can go before January pay day. Weather is dark and horrible days are long and boring comedy not really something that springs to mind.

No comment specifically on Geoff I don’t know him or his stuff and typically avoid political acts because the subject matter has become unfunny. 1-0 Rotherham tomorrow you can put your mortgage on it it’s the only result possible. I’d take a win if you offered it to me now tbh.
Going for a Rotherham 2 -0 win tomorrow if we go cautious :-(

Norcott just doesn’t sell very well - it’s more about people not finding him funny than the time of year… Some of the comments here are good though… [Link] 😂

A right wing comedian probably not aligned to those that attend plough lane events.. bad if people are paying and they can't get the sound correct..(maybe a reason some didn't bother)

I can do my Al.Murray tribute act if called for:-)
Stuart - Norcott isn’t a particularly big name on the comedy circuit, that’s probably why ticket sales were low… 🤔🤷🏻‍♂️ I remember seeing Dave Gorman and Milton Jones at Kingsmeadow - both well worth the price of the ticket !! 👏

They need to book people that are really well known (and funny…), but their fees are probably prohibitive…
Went to the Geoff Norcott event last night at PL. Sadly ended slightly early due to a medical emergency in the audience and hope the person is ok. I am not sure what is needed at PL to get more people to attend these events. Strange when Geoff can sell out bigger places than this on his national tours. Also the sound last night wasn’t good and echoed terribly which did impact on the event.

£12 for member and £15 for standard price with I would guess no more than 120 in the room.
Kite - always take extra layers with you just in case whenever you’re going up a mountain…. ☺️🥳 Went to the Chiang Mai area in 1982, met an Aussie lad who had recently been released by armed guerillas in Burma (Myanmar) whilst on a trek!! 😲

Got badly let down by AI yesterday. Was walking on Doi Inthanon, Thailand's highest peak @ 2565m. Checked to see what clothing to take and AI said ave Jan temp was 27c. It was 11c ;-/

I think running those photos through AI is a failed experiment. I'd much rather see the black and white originals.

Comparing those two pictures is fascinating. Rows and rows of people appear to be an interpretation of a mottled wall behind those standing. And I think the word on the hoarding in the original must be Drink.

... ROFHOG too!
Whatever we end up with, for our outfield strips I would stick to any combination of colours from a palate of various blues, yellows, golds, whites, greys, blacks. So much better for supporters to know what to wear at matches. No need for green, red etc. kits.

And AELTC/Merton purple and green for goalies and maybe corporate stuff. Not sure where the club badge fits into all this!
The all white Adidas kit with the blue trim we wore in 1977-78 (with the away kit the exact reverse, i.e. all blue with white trim) remains my all time favourite Wimbledon kits. Whoever designed those two kits didn't think about playing teams that season in blue and white stripes like Huddersfield or blue and white hoops like Reading when coming up with the away kit. I remember being taken to Hales sports shop in South Wimbledon to get a replica for Christmas but they didn't do any with the club badge and they had none to fit an 8 year old. The 1978-79 yellow shirts wirh blue trim and blue shorts with yellow trim Adidas kit comes a close second. Shirt advertising in the 1980s ruined that kit. I still remember Golddigger or whatever it was emblazoned across the tops. I can't remember what our away kit was when we had the yellow and blue Adidas kit. Anybody know?

Did we really play in those colours in 1977? I thought we were yellow and blue.(I'd quite like to go back to that, or better still blue shirts and yellow shorts).

Which real intelligence can't work it out? The biggest problem is the size and quality of the original. Given those it isn't surprising AI makes a pig's ear of it but it still has. Yes trying to upsize and colour them is fun but it shows how poor AI can be, it pattern matches, it doesn't "think" like real intelligence. Which is why LLMs will be a good tool for many everyday tasks but beyond that are a dead end.
