Not sure of the latest on the situation but I remember a big case around Bruce Willis vs Apple where Mr Willlis was sitting his will and wanted to bequeath his considerable iTunes music library to his children but it wasn’t allowed. This was before Apple Music subscription - back then you “bought” songs or albums via Apple Music. The legal argument was that what Mr Willis had bought was “the right to play the music” and not the music itself.
Interesting. I'm not sure it was sold that way!

No because a season ticket is a purchase of goods. A debenture is a loan.

The fact that there are only a small
Number of years left is immaterial as well. If you had the full ten years left it’s the same as one year left - back of the queue when it comes to getting any money back.
The whole point of early bird discounts was to get the money for the ticket in before the close season where income is low. Allowing monthly payments on them was always a contradiction of that principle.

The debenture posts made me wonder whether they survive administration. I presume from an accountant's point of view they are seen as debts owed by the club and would not be at the front of the queue for repayment. True?

Trigg - thanks 👍 and 6M I’m definitely waiting to do it by direct debit - they could have my first month’s payment tomorrow if they allowed DD for early birds, but they chose to not take our cash early…. 🤷🏻♂️🙄 I don’t even want an early bird discount, so they’ve shot themselves in the foot there… 🤦🏻♂️

Had my first nagging reminder from the club today to renew my season ticket. Anyone else? It's only the beginning of March. How desperate are they for cash? Early bird prices run until early April so its a bit soon to start nagging. I even have until August with my debenture should I so choose to wait until I buy one and I could opt for direct debit too.
