Tilley and Neufville are off-contract, no?

Maybe a fair chunk of this squad are off, know they are off, and don't really give a fuck anymore
For the love of God, you’re joking me. One app to buy a ticket and now I can no longer use the same app to download it and use the ticket?

Who comes up with these ideas? Do I need a separate app to enter the stadium and one to sit down? An app to buy a drink and take a piss? Ffs.
Spit-ah ok missed the situation but either way not good to have your best players in that situation unless it achieves a backs to the wall mentality

The fact that we’ve only won 5 league games away from home between January and the end of season since 1/1/2021 says a lot. Wigan and Accy in 20/21 season, Notts Cy in 23/24 and Newport (and that was 2nd Jan) and Carlisle this season.

Telling our better players like Neufville and Tilley to fuck off is only going to make them more likely to leave the club in the summer however frustrated anyone may be

Wouldn't mind being overpaid whilst underperforming.

players wages at this level are ridiculous
The players should be thankful for the great support they've had in the second half of the season when the team have been playing so long like a team that is fighting against relegation and have already accepted their fate.

You don't become a pro-footballer if you can't pass a ball etc.

Mind you, not sure what channels the club could take to reach me these days, with no local media worth its salt. Cost to benefit of doing something like a leaflet drop would be horrendous. How does any business reach "curious but passive" people these days?

Partly of course it's me being an old git and my mind failing to apply inflation to perceptions of "value for money" since I was a kid. But then I paid £20 or £21 the other day to watch Sutton v Halifax. Different strokes for different folks: no atmosphere but I didn't have to worry about arranging ahead of time so I was sat by my friends, and I can't imagine the football was £14 worse in quality. For Wimbledon, I think the bit thing is my perception is that it'll be impossible/difficult to get a ticket, which reduces temptation to keep an eye on things. Plus of course there's zero profile for the club in the local community for a "vaguely interested local resident"

OI - couldn't agree more. It will be interesting to see whether Buckley's replacement is a bean-counter, operations person or football person. It will tell us a lot about what the DTB/PLC think we need to be working on.
Sav - I completely agree that the strategy will contain many elements but it still needs to be seen as one project to remove losses and, most importantly, to be regularly monitored on that basis.

Alan IOW, JJ should have had the team in at 7.00am today and made them watch that game through four or five times before sending them home to consider their futures at professional footballers. No point in getting them out on the training ground because they can’t suddenly learn to pass to someone on the same team or to not keep giving possession to the opposition. I’m guessing we don’t practice free kicks and corners after watching our recent attempts, so I think the problem with not having any belief in our ability to win a football match is the one JJ needs to address. Not sure if we didn’t have a game plan yesterday or if the players were unable to implement it. Support was superb yesterday on that unforgiving meccano Monstrosity but the team didn’t respond.

Good to see that one player cared enough to react at the end
Sav, Sean took the cost review on and is going though everything line-by-line. I wish there were easy answers but it's a highly competitive loss-making industry and we can't change that by ourselves. I'd love to get all the League 2 chairmen in a room and agree to make all new contracts 25% less!

Agree that many small changes including the ones you mention will really help over the medium term.
The Titanic analogy is quite appropriate but not for your case. It only sank because it was rushing in dangerous conditions to impress people.

Trebs, you are welcome as my guest any time you like :)
Mornin' Peeps, just to comment on the training days mentioned by KD yesterday, he has highlighted perhaps an issue that needs looking at. The last two matches alone have enough about them to provide non-active training to be involved. Replay the matches in full, and pull apart the unforced errors and poor decision making by players, even if, no scratch that, when a few fingers get pointed, it will get it out of the system. Two games running Joe has hit uncatchable balls to the forwards, not only giving up the hope of an attack, but up the possession too. Owen hits free kicks straight in front of goal making the keeper job easy, Tilley ditto. There are percentage lessons all round. Notts county's first goal against yesterday is the trend footballers have, we are as guilty as too, the dishonour of knocking the ball out and regrouping, but it allows teams to keep their shape. Its simple stuff, stuff where if we knock it out at their corners, they have to start again from the back, whilst giving ours a few moments to have a reset and press the opposition higher at up the park.

If you went to a gig or theatre and paid £34 and got repeated duff performances, you would ask for your money back😂

I think there are a few prevailing winds in our favour that could help the financial situation: Elinor contract is up soon (general suggestion is we will do better from the next contract/contractor). The pre-funded stadium sponsorship is used up and we are now back at market rates with Cherry Red. Reducing the 'child ST loop hole' and a few other ticketing things will work without pissing off too many more. Sooner or later we will do something with the third-floor. The ticketing system seems to basically work and people are getting used to selling-back unused STs. Our club shop and merch team seem better than ever.

None of this is a silver bullet, but I definitely think we need to get used to the idea that it's a lot of small things that we need to improve on, not one big master plan 'check mate' chess move.
£34 is at the lower end of the scale for a live event. The cost for music gigs especially has doubled or trebled since Covid. Theatre has always been very expensive. For 90 minutes of 'entertainment' (OK, I know) £34 is not way out of line.
