mackie - yeah it was tough to work out in the moment what happened. I saw the footage from the live stream of the game to figure out what happened. Frustratingly, we looked to play on and twice gave the ball away between the time of Riley going down and Vale scoring.

OI - I agree. It was clearly identified at the recent meeting that we have a gap which needed to be bridged but there seems to have been no action taken on that. It does sort of seem that the master plan is to drift along until the money runs out in a couple of years then sell out when we are in administration. It's not the greatest plan in all honesty and I would hope that there is something actually better on the stocks that we just don't know about (yet)

OI we sell up get the clique who are a blight on the club out. Yes plenty of investors but not with strings attached.

Referee was dreadful for the full 100 minutes, but wasn’t why we lost.

Football used to be a simple game- why is it now so overthought?
How do we get outside investment? Nick W and I keep pointing out that it is great to identify an issue but you aren't really making progress until you have a plan for a solution.

and currently the solution looks to be administration if you want outside investment
Thanks NickD - I couldn't see clearly

And the ref was a prick on that, it doesn't have to be a foul. A head injury is just that and Harbottle couldn't get up when he tried. The game should have been stopped.

When Harbottle slipped he got a knee to the head on the way down. The fact he tried to get up but couldn’t suggested to me he should have been subbed immediately.

At least we still have a club to support. At least we’re fan-owned. We own our own club. No black clouds here. We lost? Oh well. Have another beer 🍻

All for outside investment otherwise it's the road to ruin. No player to sell, no plan from the board to stem our losses. At least very soon , we will have a club in the best stadium in non league football

Did Harbottle actually get a head injury or was he play-acting? The highlights don't show that part of the build up to the second goal

Keefy - especially as we can't even afford our current squad (given the big loss that we are running), so if anything we are going to see a squeezed budget and progressively worse players. Still - at least we own our football club, which is nice.

Real danger of losing our last south london club to win the FA cup tag too
I suspect that it is not so much a matter of the powers that be thinking that JJ is the right man for the managerial job and more that they think that he is "OK"/ basically as good as we are ever going to get and anyway we don't have any spare cash for a new manager so we might as well stick with what we can afford

Which TBF is an improvement on Gills.
Thinking about it us needing to draw and them needing to win is probably the worst case scenario. It just gives JJ the excuse (not that needs one) to set us negatively again. He will drill the team again not to give it away and the best we can hope for is a 0-0 and that means there is no margin for error. If we had to win it might mean the shackles come off and he has to go for it. We haven't got a cat in hells chance of getting away with a positive result because the mindset that is already negative with be awful.

A few weeks ago Roy Keane said that in his day when United played bad all the players dug each other out and there were no excuses. When he first got to United he had Robson and Ince calling him out demanding he got better. I wonder if our players do this and how they will approach this coming match at Grimsby.
