Don't think that's right as I seem to remember that at one point we were in the top 10 in L1

Loving all the doom and gloom. On course for our highest league position since beating Luton in the play-off final, and everyone is moaning.

Watched on Sky+ yesterday- we were battered for first 15 minutes, but we looked far more clued up than in our NW passage trio of away games a couple of months ago.
When we last went up we stuck with the same (the whole obsession with 'legends') rather than ask the question that going outside might be better for the task in hand (ie consolidating L1 status). Unfortunately emotional attachment got in the way of hard-headed decision-making.

Given our financial position, in a few years time we will probably have to outperform our budget just in order to stay in the league.

Biggles… I’d say 25% chance of winning them!

I was sat in the cappagh stand yesterday were my eyes deceiving me or did I see Caroline Brouwer taking photographs pitch side ?

We’re a play off squad who would be autos with a decent manager

I woudl agree with that Lurker but what I find so frustrating is that all the other teams are very ordinary except for Walsall who are rubbish. If we had not buggered up those three games in a row recently we would be 2 points clear at the top. Instead we are like a large suet pudding getting a stodgy point here and there. We could and should have ended this season so much better.

Still think Browne and Bugiel have contributed sweet very little.
Realistically I think we’re a play off squad that sidled into the automatic places a couple of times when no one was looking.

surely MK crowds aren't as low as 3,800 ;-)
Wonder if any Lyon fans who were at Man Utd on Thursday night are still around for the Arsenal v Lyon women’s semi this afternoon

Just looked Bradford, looking like potential auto promotion, have been in L2 for 6 years Ann Colchester, last play off place, for 10. A lot of the current L2 clubs have bounced between L1, L2 and NL. I might be happier if we could just be consistently top of L2 at moment.
Well, at least I saw a decent game of football yesterday - a home win and 3 good goals in front of a 3,800+ crowd. Plus a female ref who sent off the home team's manager.

Although the weather was effing awful.
A4 Maybe a Chesterfield player. How Neufville got MOM in front of Harbottle is a mystery.

A4e could have been a couple of their players. Basically “buy their 34 and Neufville and you’d get a decent pair of wingers”

There are 24 teams in division 2. Only 6 of those teams change each season and the majority of the other 18 will remain in L2 most seasons for ages. We’ve seen what spoofing promotion can lead to. And people moaned constantly about the performance and the manager then as well. Every year. So it’s not like it’s going to get any better if we do go up.

We had a scout sitting in front of us yesterday, constantly typing messages on his phone, and making calls too - not sure who he was looking at…. 👀🤨

I do wonder if the ref had given the penalty for Neufville’s shirt blatantly being pulled, how that match would have gone. The fact he gave any shirt pulling in the middle of the pitch makes it annoying.

Our target must be more than just out performing our budget every year surely. Staying in Div 2 football comes along with the chance of going down to non league. That will entail less sponsorship, dwindling gates, no EFL money etc etc.

I wonder if the guy in front of the main stand hasn’t worked with the other 2 before. Noticed when they were warming up he was pretty much own pace/thing and the other 2 appeared to be more together.

Lurk - I agree re cards, 4 for us and only 1 for them!!! How the fuck is that a fair representation of the game?? As for Cook only getting a yellow after about seventeen touchline meltdowns, absolute joke of a ref 🤦🏻‍♂️ and the completely incorrect throw-in decision in the second half summed up how hopeless the officials were!!

I think we’re still a work in progress here. We’ve got a much better defensive structure. Don’t forget it’s not that long since we had defenders who’d fall asleep or shit the bed every match. We’ve got the best goal difference and best goals conceded in the division. That’s not something you get with a rubbish manager. We’re clearly still trying to find out how to improve the attack. Pigott was a gamble that didn’t pay off. Bugiel has gone off the boil. Kelly has paid off as a winger but not a goal scorer. And Stevens has hit the mandatory drought at the wrong time.

I actually think with what Cope has done so far he’ll get us something decent up front in the summer.
I think we will end in the playoffs with a 50% chance of winning them, especially if Walsall are in them too.
