Were we that bad on the field that season?
Per the link to the PLB below posting: Late 2026/Spring 2027 repayments due = £3.1m. Redeemed (exchanged for shares or donated) amount expected to be £1.2m. Total amount required as a cash injection = £1.9m. So, it appears that the £1.7m "cautiously" budgeted is the £1.9m with a little flex. one way or the other, a cash injection is required. the Plough Lane Bond Update on the Club site could have been worded differently, it uses "supporters" just the once and "members" is used three times on separate sentences/paragraphs. From memory, the Club have previously received a loan from a Club director, for a 6% return, which was repaid within 6 months. If no current director (or even supporter or member) is able to provide us a material amount loan at a very favourable/competitive rate to help us during the period through to the end of our season (Spring 2027), then that could of been included.

One of the replies to the tweet StD posted below showing Jackson attending a Charlton game: "Was lucky to be in the Lennie lounge and Jacko was having dinner. Asked did he have much to do with the Junior Nkeng deal - he replied "yeah i tried to stop it happening"

My hot take for today is that we should have kept Bugiel on and played him in centre mid for the first 75 mins of every game. Yeh.

The one I was referring to, the cyclists footage included speed. As cyclist was also exceeding speed limit, both were prosecuted.

Do as you would be done by!
Car driver, must have been caught on camera, as they said the cyclists reported it, but you be able to prove it, a go-pro maybe?

Alan - who was - the car driver or the cyclist? I saw a report of a cyclist that had done just that and both he and the car driver were prosecuted!!

Alan, there are other awareness courses. My son was on his motorbike a few months ago and was hit by a car on a roundabout. Thankfully minimal injuries this time. Surrey police were considering prosecution but decided to offer the driver a course instead.

In the same conversation on the radio, it was mentioned that a cyclist reported a car driver for overtaking without leaving the right amount of room and they were put on a speed awareness course.

They also need to change the law so that you can't use a moped for business use on L-plates.

I like the theory of identifying dangerous bike riders just as I like the theory of identifying dangerous drivers. However if I ring up the police and say car XX99XXX nearly ran me down on a zebra crossing, what action will they, or even can they, take? So it will be the same with bikes with number plates. If someone is seriously injured and there is proof of the licence plate then it could help but how often will that happen?

The Standard are reporting that rental E-bikes are going to be given number plates to help track down rogue cyclists. And about time to.

If anyone is interested in owning part of the best pub in Wimbledon, following last nights meeting the investment opportunity has opened up. I’m sure you are all sick of being asked for money to prop up a struggling institution, but this one is a bit different [Link] Good to see a fair few Wimbledon supporters at the meeting too.

I agree with OI, this isn't a twenty pound note lost on the street, an explanation of sorts is needed and any lessons learned from the episode mentioned.

It happens, I've had a company go bust owing me money. However the whole thing could be finished with by a simple statement that says "The money was paid to company X and is not recoverable. We have taken steps to tighten our policies so a repeat is less likely".

and nobody any longer saying it can't be explained for legal reasons
Only getting 7300 at home against Wigan and seemingly loads of spare seats still for Saturday isn't going to help our financial cause. Only once did we go under 8000 last season, could it be twice already before the end of September?

Inclined to agree with Silk. If I remember correctly we paid a company to provide a service for us and that company then went bust so we lost the money - i also seem to recall another club being affected? Huge near catastrophic error for a club like us - i guess the key learning questions would be did we do the right due diligence on this company and if not, why not and how will we make sure we do it next time we are parting with 400k for something.

100%
The £400k cannot be replaced. It is gone, finito, kaput. Unless someone is willing to dip into their back-pocket and come up with it is it gone. So we should stop going on about like a nagging wife when you forget to put the washing out. What we need to ensure is that we have learned from the fuck-up and make sure we don't do it again.

One thing you learn in life is everyone makes mistakes the biggest test of character is whether the person who makes mistakes leans from it and others can accept the mistake. I would be more interested in the DTB telling me how they are going make sure it will not be repeated that constantly having a dig about it.
Or, put another way, if we hadn’t lost the £400k (in “the event”, that we can’t discuss) we would still have a cash shortfall, but it would be £400k smaller than the shortfall we have now.

[195.lo.gg.ed]
Can you imagine actually saying that? It needs to be replaced. It needs to be explained. And it needs to be acted upon. It’s £400,000 while the club puts out begging comms for more money. Disgraceful. Ashamed of nothing.
That’s not exactly an answer though is it Timmy? As you well know mate your position as a clique defence pawn is well accepted. Just because the £400k has been accounted for does not explain why fans and members have been asked to donate money and blamed for not donating enough money while £400,000 has gone from the club with no explanation, no conversation and no accountability.
