On sale throughout April, this season’s final edition of The Historical Don looks back a decade to a time when exciting plans were being hatched in South London. On the fringes of the play-offs when they faced Liverpool in a high-profile FA Cup tie in January 2015, despite the Dons’ promotion hopes fading during the second half of the campaign Neil Ardley was already honing the squad that was to reach League One 12 months later. Meanwhile, the club announced that they were seeing permission to build a home back on Plough Lane.

We need a CEO who is on the board not an exec chair or exec vice chair. If Woodruff is good enough give it to him, if not, get someone else. I agree with Aideen, I'm done. Sell out.

Looking at the statement I think that the key is the first bullet point which basically (translated out of corporate speak) says “the role is too much work for too little money and therefore none of the applicants were any good”

Why ?? What a complete farce, where did we actually look for someone to replace him or didn’t we bother

Does sort of explain the ridiculous delay in the announcement- those involved must have known exactly what the reception was going to be

Hopefully tonight we'll get a plan to fund the club next season starting with enough money sign a decent squad . Preferably a new manager as well. Oh maybe Buckley could take over the role temporarily!

Amazing. Well done to all involved. Looking forward to the 'jobs for the boys' section of John Green's docu-series on fans ownership.

Does the ratification at the AGM mean that Trust members will vote on it? Or is is just a rubber stamping exercise?
As someone who went to most of our games home and away during the 9 years of non-league football, I don't mind being back there. But doubt we could afford or stay at plough lane.

I expect a sequence to end on Saturday. In the AFCW era, home and away results against Grimsby have been mirror images of each other. When we won 2-1 at home in the Conference we lost 2-1 away. We then had a 1-0 home win and 1-0 away defeat. Also, a 0-0 home and away. This season we lost 1-0 at home so for the sequence to continue we need to win 1-0 on Saturday. It ain't happening.

Really don't understand why the most senior role at the club is filled by a one day a week volunteer. The other candidates cannot have been that good but none of this explains why this took so long. At least it wasn’t Kris Stewart making a come back. I don't think we've seen the last of him.
I sort of don’t really care who Chairs the board- anyone who is an outsider and was willing to take the job for the money on offer won’t be any good (ie you get “better value” by giving it to a fan and I don’t really have any problems with MB holding the role) but if this was always going to be a case of MB being the only person who could possibly replace himself it’s not clear why we spent the time and incurred the costs just to give the pretence of a proper process. Clear that there is never going to be any space for fresh thinking or outsiders in the governance of the club or the DTB, we will just continue to drift pleasantly downstream until we go over the waterfall of administration.

After an exhaustive worldwide search of football, I have whittled down the shortlist to be AFCW chair to one.

Yes. If Colchester win, we win (which is unlikely), Salford lose and Chesterfield lose they would creep in. They just can't finish above us. So five teams chasing two play off spots. If I was a betting man I reckon Doncaster will win the division, Port Vale 2nd, Bradford 3rd, Walsall 4th, Notts County 5th, Salford 6th, Grimsby 7th, Chesterfield 8th, us 9th and Colchester 10th.

Can't remember the last time this season we were that low. If this is how it pans out then it has been a capitulation of monumental proportions and an self-inflicted utter failure. Next season will be tough as SwinDon and Gillingham will be better, the other teams that missed out on promotion will still be there and we will have a weaker squad with a limited manager. Roll on August.
My money is on Kris Stewart for the new chair.
