Slough , Thanks for the info on. the history of our efforts to remain fan owned. Obviously change is needed. As far as 50+1 vote yes or no I too am not sure whether it will lure in investment to make any difference. The Trust will have to name investors before we vote. Not sure they will.

Wembley here we come
Due to UK company law, I believe that the inability to offer a 25%+ stake through shareholding will destroy any chance to get any meaningful investment in to the club. Certainly an investment that won't see us out with the begging bowl again within another 5 years. That 25%+ has teeth, no surprise Sir Jim Ratcliffe has 27.7% of Manure. That wasn't an accidental figure, as Slough says, the 50.0001% is nothing more than kicking the can down the road. Without any meanful route to increased revenues from within, I don't see a long term funding strategy that remains sustainable from a minority shareholder sell down.

Would sooner see a 100% pitch owners scheme for the DT to claim and use as protection, ala Chelsea, which was successfully applied against the Abramovich scheme. That btw still didn't discourage the buying of Chelsea and the fans owned pitch still had a good relationship despite Roman not getting his way.
I supported Dave Boyle when he took over running the ESG from me and he successfully introduced online voting for the DTB elections. I am sure there are many subjects he and I profoundly disagree on but he always pursued the ESG role with integrity and quit after some recommendations were kicked into the long grass by the DTB.

not necessarily saying that is why he quit, you'd have to ask him
Well I hope that that is the cause of last night’s poor performance then CW and that the illness goes away quickly. I was surprised at how different things were from the Huddersfield game.

Keefy Dave Boyle is the bloke who worked with Kevin Rye & Lou Carton-Kelly at Supporters Direct. He is currently mentoring /supporting the DT Secretary and is involved in the constitution review with James Ledward plus he was also consulted around Triggers appeal. Personally I won't be voting for 50+1 as I think it will make it even harder to sell club going forward plus it's another step towards their Purpose Foundation or similar which I'm totally against.

Timmy - sorry, yes, five not four… CW - the commentator said there was sickness in the Exeter camp too, but maybe it did affect our players more…

If there is anyone interested in the concept of "invest with very little influence, almost no possibility to increase influence and facing the very real possibility of losing your investment through administration" I have a set of tennis courts up near Southfields to sell them (oh and a windmill set in many acres of greenery)

We flattered to deceive earlier in the season, specifically when Stevens was fit and firing - one point from the last four league games is concerning, but we are just slipping into the kind of form that is probably a fair reflection of the overall quality of our squad.

Slough, Could not be arsed to read all that dirge from Dave Boyle (who is he?) Posted 5 yrs ago. Our present set requires asking our supporters to dig deep into their pockets. Very few signed up for that at the time. The trusts view that we should be the guiding light for football is conceited and embarressing . We have come to a point in time where chnge is needed. Some won't like it but i believe they would be in the minority right now.

MLD, I suspect the success on the pitch is the tip of the iceberg, it's the business as a whole that needs a rescue package in.my view, without that, the on field successes are pie in the sky. As an extreme, HMRC don't kill football teams, they kill the clubs responsible for the team. My worry on the 50.00001% BS, is that the post that offerings later down the line will be an unattractive offering to anyone who will be looking for a club at the time of the follow crisis to this one. No meat on the bone.

Slough: I think it’s fair to say that there’s more and more people who realise that if we want success on the pitch, fans ownership is not sustainable. Ie that paper is obsolete and we need to change the mindset

Squad isn't deep enough. No alternatives in central midfield, and strikers we had fit this evening aren't good enough. We have enough about us when everyone is fit to be fine. But January offers me more worry than hope.
