TBK - I thought the advert alluded to it being paid for the right sort of candidate. I'm pretty sure I recall some flexibility on that.

TVK if I was planning on going and having just read that I certainly wouldn't bother now as just proves we are run by mates and on the cheap...after whittling over 100 candidates to a shortlist of 2 we thought best to leave for the new board to make the decision I mean you've literally made the decision already

OI's point about CEO not executive chair is the main one. We seemed to create this structure entirely to fit someone like Buckley, and low-and-behold it's only Buckley that fits it. Meanwhile the DT is presumably going to spunk hundreds of hours into our constitutional review to change minor voting thresholds and whatever else, rather than fixing the rot in the PLC structure.

Interestingly, the plan, such as it was, outlined at the recent “meet the PLC board” meeting seemed to be to get fans to voluntarily stump up the costs of fan ownership (ie cover the losses via donations or higher ticket prices). Good luck with that in the current environment… I agree with OI that we are basically at the end of the road of fan ownership.

Looking at the statement I think that the key is the first bullet point which basically (translated out of corporate speak) says “the role is too much work for too little money and therefore none of the applicants were any good”
