Pete - from earlier. I'm sure it was at York City and Pullen was getting grief from our fans behind his goal and he told.them to fuck off. I can't remember what was behind it tbh.

Three more same old, same old.
It fell just right for us last time. I knew we'd beat Accy and was hoping for Muff in the final, because I didn't fancy our chances v Pompey. So when it was Muff I travelled to Wombley fully confident that we'd be promoted.

Our best chance if we are in the playoffs is to play Walsall and Notts County, though I'm not holding my breath.

Padds - we were third in the Ryman, second in the Conference and 7th in L1. We had momentum and belief in 2016, we don't have that now.

Although obviously our Wallys' great escape season was the exception
Both times we've been promoted recently we were in the last play-off place, I think.

I know only 3 other teams can make it into the play offs if we are in them too but I have looked at the most likely 4 fighting it out for the other 3 spots.

None of them are particularly good. Walsall should not be in this position and it will be devastating them for them not to get promoted at all given they were 12 points clear with a game in hand at one point, but that is what I think will happen. I reckon whoever creeps into the play offs on the last day will win at Wembley. It will not be us.
I think we will stumble into the play offs. We may already have enough points but one more win (stop laughing) would seal it. Doncaster, Port Vale and Bradford will probably be the automatic three. In the play off will be Notts County (we've a very good record against them and only failed to win once), Colchester (again, a very good record with just a solitary draw blotting an otherwise 100% win rate), Walsall have not won in a dozen or so games and Grimsby (who our matches against have been very evenly balanced - up to this season the home score always mirrored the away score so let's hope that continues). If it was not for the fact that we have become utterly useless, resorting to aimless kicking, time wasting and hoping to nick a goal whilst playing for 0-0, I would be hopeful of play off success. But I'm not and expect us to lose both semi-final legs, whoever we play.

I wonder how much tickets are going to be for those two games?
I resisted posting yesterday as I am so pissed off watching us throw our season away. It is all self-inflicted. OK, we've only had one player this season who could score regularly so what does Jackson do? Change from playing to his strengths to either playing him to the right of a three, which negates his goal threat and because he is slower than he looks, he is totally ineffective, or down the middle like he did yesterday, where he is too small. Now we have zero goal threat. Bugiel is not a goal scorer but he can disrupt the other team or act as a foil for Stevens, which only works as a front two. Why persist with 5-2-3? Kelly has been massive and expensive flop and is not a goal scorer at this level in any formation. Browne has been another expensive flop (albeit funded by friends of our American author fan). Sasu needs to bulk up over the summer. For his size he never wins headers. Foyo needs game time somewhere. For all the praise he gets, it's a shame Cope struck out on our two most expensive signings when we don't have money to waste.

As much as I want to go up, what sort of season would next season be like with the remnants of this squad and a management team unable to change tactics when they are sussed out?
OI: Parachute payments last for 3 years and stop if a team are promoted back to the PL.

A question triggeredby the Fair Game propaganda. Burnley should be entitled to two years parachute payments. Do they still get the second year of payments now they have been promoted again?

Unlike most teams - we tend not to get any post-match analysis from our players (unless we win) - why is that? Now would be a good time to hear from them that they give a shit etc.

About as much chance of automatic promotion as there is of Jackson putting out an attacking entertaining team the last 2 league games DO😂

So if we win on Saturday and bradford and Walsall don't , the 3rd automatic promotion position could still be ours!

Well the disclaimer says it isn't true JAW. It uses estimated wages and every player who has been there for part of a season. And it doesn't say how t deals with loans where they probably have no idea what percentage of the wage is picked up by the League 2 club.

Top half of L1 is much more significant. Birmingham are estimated to be spending £16m (1st in budget table), Rotherham £7m (4th).

Undeniably, that sort of wage bill had a huge impact
Even those figures are unreliable it shows how small the differences are between L2, ie a few hundred grand between playoffs and midtable mediocrity. Simply looking at the positions in the league table is facile. Good management/recruitment/culture will surely trump a few hundred grand.

Interestingly, the differences are similarly tiny with midtable L1 clubs
Would suggest that anything that puts Morecambe as spending more than Doncaster is pretty unreliable.
