I know Al-Hamadi became our number 9 but Josh would have been the good back up for the last 20 or if Ali needed rest. Playing him as a number 10 played him a role he was not suited to like Matty as a wide forward or loan target man.

Hopefully we will be playing with a 352 today. After listening to a couple of podcasts yesterday I remembered the start Josh Davison had for us. In the first half of his first season he scored 8 goals all in the box when playing as a 9 in a 4231. Then he moved him to a number 10 and his goals dried up. This season Stevens scored a lot of goals in the first half of the season in a front two with Bugiel. he then got moved to a right sided forward in a 343 and his goals dried up. Hopefully JJ will see the connection and return to a 352.

Surely the stats show that it is rare for us to concede early or even be losing at half time? I'm sure something to that effect was posted a few days ago. Our achilles heel is the last 15 minutes

Bad Egg: I went to watch Partick a few weeks ago when I was in Glasgow, so watched the Partick vs Falkirk game on iplayer last night. A game that had everything. A cheeky early goal by Partick. They were vastly inferior to Falkirk, and it got worse when they had a man sent off after 35 minutes, following which Falkirk equalised. Back to the wall stuff until Falkirk had an (undeserved) red card around 80 minutes. Then the (I thought offside) winner by Ablade in the 98th minute, followed by a pitch invasion. Cracking stuff, which keeps Partick's play-off hopes alive. I recognised the name Ablade but had to google him to remember why. My Partick-supporting mate is coming to watch us against Port Vale today, but I have warned him not to expect the same excitement.

If we do make the playoffs, I really hope we get either Walsall or Notts County, preferably both. I read earlier today that we are about 15th in the form table over the last 10 games and Walsall and Notts are around 20th or 22nd. Plus we have decent records against both, particularly Notts.
