They finished the Zoom feed at the end of the DT meeting, but Dons TV still going.

The DT meeting took about 45 minutes, but we're still waiting for the PLC meeting, I think. (Dons TV says it's still half-time, so can't have started yet.)

It was on Zoom and Dons TV. I presume they have managed to rush through it in less than an hour. I just heard the bit about what great Boards we have working together. Anything meaningful happen?

Oh Lord, Aideen. Goes to show how disenchanted we all are. You're the first person to mention it. Admittedly we're ill and in Somerset, but I don't even feel inclined to watch it (assuming you can if you're not on Discord. ) Hats off to you and any other tenacious people from on here who have gone.

Just used the new online appointment system with the Nelson practise . Requesting a face to face non urgent appointment. We'll see how long it takes.

Keefy- I worked for a GP when they negotiated that contract, He said they all thought it was hilariously good,; they were biting the government's hand off and the politicians were too stupid to see the consequences.

I think the resident doctors (NB this is nothing to do with GPs) will have lost a lot of public support for the stance they're taking. (I'm certainly not happy about it as my daughter is due to give birth during the strike.)

Lurker- not complaining about them striking, but striking when there is a. Flu epidemic that shows no sign of peaking. Health Secretary offered to extend their strike mandate so they could move strike to January. First do n9 harm.

Rob if it's stronger pain killers you need the doc will probably say just lay off the home games...

Depends on how many patients on the books at a practice ,.obviously the Nelson is a big catchment area with 2 former practices,cannon hill and church lane.

TBF to the Nelson, they do prioritise same-day if need be (which I've had to use about 3/4 months ago).

Keefy - I think I must be lucky, yes, although I’m pretty sure that if you request a non urgent appointment online, you’ll get one - you just have to be prepared to wait a few days or a week or so. Urgent issues might be more problematic, I don’t know.

The Nelson asked me to book a routine appointment to discuss blood test results. They neglected to tell me that there aren't any appointments now available until 2026.

What practice is that you are very lucky, did you have to wait long?

Labour yes, gives in to the most powerful unions. Mind you the GP's are and have been taking the piss for years after Blair re negociated their contracts. Impossible to ger a face to face appointment leading to more people attending A and E

DO compare the doctors salary to a tube drivers salary and have a think about what we prioritise (as in who has the most power for the least requirements to do the job).
