On sale throughout April, this season’s final edition of The Historical Don looks back a decade to a time when exciting plans were being hatched in South London. On the fringes of the play-offs when they faced Liverpool in a high-profile FA Cup tie in January 2015, despite the Dons’ promotion hopes fading during the second half of the campaign Neil Ardley was already honing the squad that was to reach League One 12 months later. Meanwhile, the club announced that they were seeing permission to build a home back on Plough Lane.

Full-rune may be magic we need but I meant full-time!

I agree about the need for a full-rune professional administrator for the DT but that will cost a lot. Some members protest when we do pay even a reasonable discounted rate for professional services like the recent executive search. It shouldn't stop you trying but you can't please all the people all the time.

It is already 18 months since we had thr problems about whether the DTB could legitimately operate, when we were told we were busy working with the FSA to review the constitution. I know the non-FSA people are all volunteers and have many demands on their time but It is all taking rather long, particularly if we won't tackle other important issues till it is done.

Biggles - Any idea how long voting will take after publishing? Do we have an expected timeline anywhere?

I hope you are right and that we can close it out this year.
I think the constitutional review is due to be published by the end of this year, not next year.

Which was one reason why I didn’t take up the recent offer to extend my 5 year season ticket for another 5 years!!

RK- I think that that is a likely crunch point, so less than 2 seasons left.

Isn't Michelle's position as Vice Chair also interim? Is that full time? Presumably we now need to start filling that as she's been in for ~9 months. Oh, and take a look at the original Chair JD and see if you think a day a week with no pay is a good idea [Link]

The problem is that our current constitution leaves us unable to deal with certain types of crisis, as it is ambiguous or simply doesn't address whatever the situation is. So it HAS to be fixed ASAP. Hopefully we are able to cope with this and the financial problem at the same time. Seems to me we need to have a plan to get past the 2027 bond redemptions first. Without any new cash coming in, this will require some rollovers, or conversions to equity, or Bond3.

Nick W, think the crunch will come 2027 when we find out we haven't got the £2m or so to repay tranche 2 bond-holders

Based on our current cash burn rate we have perhaps no more than 2 or 3 years before we run out of money. The fact that we are engaged in yet another constitutional review, which isn’t going to be complete for 18 months and is unlikely to change much says a lot about our misplaced priorities and inability to deal with crises.

Burton have done well after the chaotic start to the season under Robbo ,lucky they got rid after 14 games and gave themselves a chance., looking at goal difference you would think they are safe already.

Burton Alb v Wigan tonight. A point for Burton delegates Crawley & Bristol Rovers who would then join Camb Utd & Shrewsbury in L2 next season

OI - I can't see us doing the PLC structure until the Constitutional Review is done, which I expect to not be voted on by the members until Autumn 2026. So I think you are probably 24-months optimistic in your assessment.

Part of the reason why the DT needs a paid, high quality full-time administrator to help push these things forward.
I love the fact that the last few paragraphs of the statement on Buckley state the obvious and exactly what some of us have been saying since 2022. I presume however we will waste the rest of 2025 doing a review and then take most of 2026 to set up the new structure. HINT - We need a CEO on the plc board. Hopefully Woodroof is good enough to be promoted to that, if not, find someone who is.

Maddi is fantastic. She's been with the foundation for ages and has coached my daughter. Another unsung hero behind the scenes. Also Scott Lockwood who is an absolute star and runs the foundation ran the London Marathon for Great Ormond Street on Sunday. If you can sponsor him. He's does so much behind the scenes and anyone who has taken their kids to a holiday camp or one of the Saturday morning sessions will know how fantastic he is and what an amazing job he does for the club

I did ask Meta AI who would prevail on Saturday, "given the significance of this match to both teams, it's likely to be a closely contested encounter. The outcome will depend on various factors, including team dynamics, strategy and player performance on the day"
