WBM, but that is part of our identity. A big fuck you to those who said we're not in the wider interests of football.

Sad news for Lyle but good news for us
Once you're an owner you can put in as much or as little cash into the club as you want and if the fans don’t like it they can sit down and shut up or throw tennis balls on the pitch or something.

Rich fans should put more into their football clubs is the same as rich people should put more into society via higher taxes.
My point is John Green gets the same sort of attention as he would as if he’s our owner, but on the cheap via the odd donation. It’s rather like Michele Little and the considerable power on an EFL board she’s carved out while being a large bondholder (and we can’t easily get rid of her now). We’re just giving this stuff away.

That is a pity for Lyle, hard to come back from any serious injury at 35 but the best of luck to him.

At least LTB won't score the winning goal against us in the play-off final at Wembley. [Link]

Carshalton, it was a great comeback but who could see that coming? Mainoo's equaliser was sublime with three Lyon defenders around him

I don’t hate JG or anything but I do sometimes find his attitude towards the club is that our identity is some kind of anti-establishment movement is a bit grating and that he comes across quite condescending to anyone who just wants to support Wimbledon.

I do appreciate what he has done for the club and have no issue with him other than that
I was watching Man U last night and turned off when they went 4-2 down just found out they won 5-4

Wouldn't that be great. However having heard him at length last night I suspect John's politics are a little different to good old Galty's ;)

Yes KD is definitely maturing, we've pretty much got him out of the primary school stage where making up rude nicknames is seen as the height of culture. It is more now the tweenie idea of saying things to get attention. By the time the club is actually sold he may well be a functional adult.

I wouldn't take Kentish so seriously. He enjoys being contrarian and it keeps things interesting here. I mean what if everyone just agreed on everything, it would be a bit boring wouldn't it.

Meanwhile back in the real world...
KD - I really do not understand your hatred of John Green. He's simply a football supporter with more money than most, and happy to pass on some of his online earnings from he and his brothers' YouTube channel. Last night I suspect there would have been attendees who do not support us, so bringing new people to the stadium for a non-matchday event.

Also the idea he needs our help to get media attention is laughable.

I think it's fair to have been cynical about John Green's involvement initially, although even at the time my feeling was anything that grew our profile with potential new fans was good. But come on, he's a decade in, has consistently put money in, has continued to promote us at every opportunity and has asked for nothing in return. He wasn't doing the event tonight for self-aggrandisement, he did it to raise money for the club.

And yes, he paid for Joe Lewis’s transfer fee or whatever, but there’s an opportunity cost for having him do that instead of a proper owner.

John Green wouldn’t have been supporting anyone in ‘88. The Premier League is a global phenomenon and he’s a Johnny Come Lately who’s jumped on the English bandwagon.

I wouldn’t mind if he pumped in serious cash. Nick Robertson has invested much more but he eschews the limelight
Wonder who he was supporting in the 88 fa Cup final when he was 11?

John Green is lucky to have found a great football club with low self-esteem that seems pathetically grateful to have a moderately successful American purveyor of teen literature as patron.
