I don't think anyone is saying that Chesterfield aren't a good side or we should have rolled them over. But we were terrible in possession and never looked remotely like scoring. Very different from the Plymouth promotion season. Play like this and promotion seems very unlikely indeed.

Keefy, I agree with that. Joe shouldn't be hitting balls out for a goal-kick to them from the edge of our penalty area. 9 towns couldn't catch up with that one.

Yes Chesterfield are a good side with a decent manager but our kick and hope football was so poor. I don't think we managed to keep possession for more the 3/4 passes at any time all game. Promotion would be fantastic but probably would come straight down playing similar footbal. A long ball to Neufeville is our only tactict and along out of form strikers will mean will be playing Barnet next season.

One positive is that Foyo should be entertaining in L2 next season. Unless we manage two pen shoot out victories in the playoffs.

Play-off position? Possibly. Automatic promotion definitely not? Promotion through the play-offs? Only if the other sides screw up and we can score 1 or 2 goals a game.

As has been said, No34 was handy yesterday, but I also thought their No27 “Bim” (abbreviated from Aribusitamunoipirim) Pepple, a former Canadian Premier League player, was decent too - I wasn’t sorry to see him replaced, although it was by the ex MK player Colclough… Plus they had John Fleck, with plenty of Premier League and Championship games at Sheffield United under his belt. The idea that Chesterfield aren’t a very good side is daft - especially with the cunning dark arts master Paul Cook as manager…

Their 34 Michael Olakigbe is on loan from Brentford and an England youth player. Thought he caused us more problems than most wingers this season.

Chesterfield are not a good side. They are your average, turgid League Two side with no end product in the final third and that is why they will probably miss the playoffs. Like most L2 sides they favour athletes over footballers. What has happened to wingers who can go past their men and put in crosses? Too many times forwards can use their physicality to get to to a ball over the top first but then lack the skills to either finish the chance or create one.
