Chesterfield are not a good side. They are your average, turgid League Two side with no end product in the final third and that is why they will probably miss the playoffs. Like most L2 sides they favour athletes over footballers. What has happened to wingers who can go past their men and put in crosses? Too many times forwards can use their physicality to get to to a ball over the top first but then lack the skills to either finish the chance or create one.

Thought they were better than us in first half but we got more into it as game progressed without ever looking like scoring. Reading back about 3 was on a spin, made me chuckle. 3 goals would be nice…

Chesterfield a better side than Gills or Grimsby. As for PV - if they can lose to Carlisle, we are in with a shout of beating them.

Nervo seems to be the only person to acknowledge that Chesterfield were a good side - everyone else seems to think we should have turned them over easily . They had 8 players behind the ball for most of the game, and we aint got the quality to break that down

I agree OI, when Reeves doesn't play he is missed. Ball is the obvious replacement not Maycock (who isn't a bad player) as he will cover better for Smith's shortcomings.

Them, good passing side but created very little. Us ,not a good passing side and forgotten how to score a goal.

All a bit boring to be honest. We are defensively fairly sound but don't really do much in attack. Stevens, Omar and Kelly all now not scoring. We have become more and more direct across the season and can't seem to string a few passes together. Felt very deflated at the end. We may get into the play offs, but we could have easily got into the automatics if we had managed to get into a little bit of form.

Very poor game but a point more than I expected. The great dawn of not playing Reeves fell a little flat and I'd have liked Ball in to do 80% of the hard work Reeves does. I can see why Foyo isn't starting, he's exciting but very raw, may make a reasonable League 2 player next season.

Wonder if Browne will be rushed back to add a bit of firepower. James ‘the ball’ Ball should be starting.
