When googling to see if it was “War Child” or “Warchild” I just saw that other charities like UNICEF have sponsored ads on searches for “War Child” so they come up above them in the search results. Not sure I feel too comfortable with that.
Not seen that Meadow - have noticed 3 major charities starting to do heavy social media advertising to request financial support for the children in Gaza.

These are dark times for humanity it’s hard to see the world going back to what was normal. Very sad times all round.
Meadow - someone sent it to me earlier today, and I thought how weird it was….

Not my stat but “Wimbledon have lost each of their last three away league games against sides from Greater Manchester, while the Dons have failed to score on eight of their last nine visits to the county in league action.”

Best bet for us tomorrow is +1.5. You can get odds of about 1/2 for that.

Lurk - exactly, it’s called urban sprawl, suburban villages being subsumed within the growth of the city - ultimately you end up with a megacity, London being one of them (though not as big as the approximately 37 million metropolitan area of Tokyo…).

Silk I’d take that further. People from London moving outwards has been a thing for centuries. It’s how the larger entity formed.

Yeah there is a second version* of the experiment where the observation happens after the event and that just makes the whole thing even weirder. In the normal experiment one set of results (the wave end result) disappears when being observed - you only see the particle end result. In the “observe after the event version” it suggests that by doing something in the present time you can influence what has already happened in the past.i won’t lie to you it twists my melon. It means something is going on that we just don’t understand and makes no sense under all current knowledge. I wonder if anyone will ever figure it out.

* called the Delayed Choice
People are moving out of London because of how expensive it is. I also remember my grandparents moving out of London to Essex when they retired. It is not a new thing. Been happening for decades.

Trigger - is this what you were getting at? "The famous double slit experiment shows that a physicist’s choice of how to measure a photon influences what they observe: whether it travels through one slit, like a particle; or through both, like a wave. But there’s a lesser known variant of this experiment, in which the physicist doesn’t decide what measurement they’ll make until the last possible moment. In this case, their choice, at the point of measurement, apparently influences not just the current status of the particle they find, but the journey it has already completed: even “past” events are unfolding as we look. "
