I know it has no impact on the actual England squad or performance at the World Cup. So why bother with the fixture? Nobody wants to watch this, the players don’t want to play in it. Bin it off and give everyone a rest. On the radio earlier it was defended/balanced as “making a lot of money” - for whom? Who needs the money that tonight has made and how is that money going to be used to further our chances of winning a World Cup?

Am I right in thinking that if Lincoln win on Friday then they don’t quite guarantee promotion but virtually do? If both Lincoln and Bolton win then it’ll be 87 points Lincoln and 69 points Bolton with 18 points left to play for. But Lincoln have a GD of 40 to Bolton’s 16. So it would need Bolton to win all 6 remaining games and Lincoln to lose all 6 remaining games and a 24 (maybe 25 on goals scored) shift in goal difference.

Obviously that’s not gonna happen but it does mean that they’re not mathematically promoted if they beat us and Bolton win as well. Probably best not to get into that with them as you exit the ground. Just clap em along. I think most people would generally wish them well in their Championship endeavours and are pleased to see them take the title over moneybags box of frogs Cardiff.
