I dont think that anybody who abstained or voted no is out of touch with club, maybe its because we don’t have faith with those in power

92% is about as big a landslide as you can get outside of North Korea so those against will have to accept they are totally out of touch with the club.

Laurence I commented last year that I thought more names would be added to our history and not in a good way, I really hope that I’m proved wrong

Definitely a right way to do things we just never seem to choose it!

DO - personally I hope York get the automatic spot. I also think it’s time for 3 up 3 down there. 2 automatic and 1 playoff winner. As you say, both Rochdale and York deserve to go up but the litter of the playoffs awaits one of them.
Trigs - Let 'em attack all they like, they can feel insulted too for all I care. There's either a right way to do things or there isn't.

I see that Rochdale play York on last day of season - Rochdale on 94 pts & York on 92 pts at top of National League. Could be a tasty match if still that close (3rd place on 76 pts)

Good luck with that line of questioning Pete. It’s not that I disagree - I have zero trust in the people running the trust or our votes and elections - but the attack puppies will be out acting insulted that someone might think that it needs checking.

It should be independently verified, but when we pick independent people they tend to end up being anything but.
Silly question but, who gets to check last night's sums? Not suggesting anything murky, but surely it would be only right and proper to be verified independently, rather than taking someone's word for it.

must be some kind of record that result being declared so quickly. Just sayin', it usually takes them months.
Alan - IOW. If this goes wrong, I will have every name engraved in my brain, just like I do the FA Cup winners of 1988. And for different reasons.

to lose a club twice would be rather foolish.
Alan IoW - I'm more inclined to believe that the current hierarchy would have preferred not to have 50+1 and kept the model as is/was, but they've also seen the spreadsheets...

Still quite a sizeable number voted against it.
Repd - you could be right, those that have pushed for this, will be remembered particularly if the poo hits the spinny thing later down the line.

Will need to be at the races in the literal last chance saloon.
Spit, 50% +1 is what the FSA define as fan ownership, so yes we can.

Russ - "what we are really doing is selecting which minority investor we are going to screw over in a few years". Think it's more likely we'll just go for a full sale in that scenario

The vote result today proves that when it comes to it, people put the viability of AFCW above everything else.
Oooh Robbie Earle would be alright.

But really, if this is just a can kicking exercise as it doesn’t solve underlying financial performance, what we are really doing is selecting which minority investor we are going to screw over in a few years when we go into administration and they lose their stake entirely.
TF - "These are our values. If you don't like them, we have others".

StD - ironically it might strengthen the DT. Though it will now need to be a bit more business like
I think the “share our values” filter may reduce the number of people interested in donating money ;-)

Can we still claim to be fan' owned at 50.01.?

50+1 kind of became inevitable when the John Green consortium put money in and nobody batted an eyelid.
I hope people look past "Robbie Earle" or the equivalents in other groups and actually examine what is on offer.

Haven't we been told a fair few times since 2002 that we've had plenty of people interested in buying a stake in the club?
24th Mar 2026 15:04:26
[45.lo.gg.ed]
Considering how much owning/running a football club costs, it's interesting how many investors look to buy into them.
At the risk of sounding completely stupid, am I correct in thinking that this result means that there is a slightly better chance of us being able to bring in some money to the club from outside investors (subject to a successful second vote…)? I know that my level of understanding of financial and company matters is pretty shallow, but I suspect that I’m not alone, and I quite like simple straightforward explanations of these things…
