Anyone in earshot of what was said between the away dugout and the woman who was then escorted from the stadium?

Reading were 2-0 up in 3rd min of added time, only for Carlisle to score twice and then get the winner in extra time. All three scored by Regan Lydney. First game in charge for Reading's new manager,

I just read that we've been knocked out by non league teams in 4 of the last 5 seasons. A real mentality issue which needs sorting. Costing us money and costing us a good bit of enjoyment as well. Wasted.

I worry about the inability for those who aren't naturally first choice taking opportunities when they get the chance.
Budget or not that lowers our 'football fortune' money and I have seen no evidence of how we look likely to close the losses. Now we can't even say we'll try to be like Exeter because they've admitted they can't support a League 1 budget.

RK - about 5,300 attendance. Abysmal performance. Smith a passenger for the second week running, Maycock ineffective in the inside left channel, little service to the front two, and don’t get me started on Sasu. How he got MotM is utterly beyond me - not good enough again. For me, Seddon was our best player.

Nick W, I think the implication for me anyway, is that this will move us toward selling a player to fill (this year's) black hole, unless we can sustain another £1m+ loss

Playoffs and tinpot trophy still possible though
Last time we were in L1 we had a good start to the season then form turned down after a poor cup performance and a January where we unloaded our best performer and never recovered - let’s hope that history doesn’t repeat itself

Knocking on 50 years later...
The early season gloss has taken a right tumble today and reached a new low. These wait a week matches are good if you are winning, but keep on losing to lower placed sides and the trepidation goes on and on. I do worry that it's been a fair while since a commanding back to back home performances, not just a winning ones.

Putting a stamp on a game is what gives everyone a lift.
My understanding, based on something from a Trust meeting a while back, is that we include cup attendances and prize money in our budgeting now.

To call that performance diabolical would be deeply unfair on the devil. Seddon was OK, Sasu had a good first half, Reeves was Reeves.

Relieved I couldn't go today, it sounds dire. When BBC London asked their chap at the match if there was an update on the Dons losing 0-2, the brief and brutal one-word answer was "no". And that was it, shortest ever radio update ever I guess.

RK - I was responding to MLD's point not yours. I hope the playoff runs has helped with 24/25 figures due out soon.

You know it’s all going to go wrong when you can’t even complete a tribute to the people who died for our country. Surely people aren’t so stupid that they applaud the bugler and start chanting rather than observe the silence.

Silko, We DON'T budget for cup income but it's TOTALKLY IRRELEVANT factiod when we have a budgetted loss

Only hope of extra income is if someone like Hackford comes good and we get a good transfer fee in the summer. From a cynical business point Hackford should start over either Omar or Browne as he could potentially get us the biggest fee.

It would seem strange to budget on a FA Cup run. You could get drawn away to Cardiff in R1 - although we might have a better chance than a NL side at home - ironically.

Seem weird to budget on uncertain income. Most businesses will have a potential income recorded and may plan with it in mind but won't spend it until it becomes actual income.
Playoffs income is 24/25, I thought we were talking about 25/26?

and 24/25 results out later in month, probably a loss £1.5m (ish)
Or to "draw a picture" A) Do Not budget for Cup = Inc Zero, Loses £1.1m, B) Budget for Cup Inc, Inc =£1.1m, Losses = Zero

Surely the playoff run would have made us some money and cut into that deficit. Have to beat Bromley now in the Virtu Cup now. We can play the first team now.

Silk: agreed about that in the past. 100% right. And I might be mistaken but when the finances bit was discussed at a meeting, I believe they said to enable more money being spent on wages that this year they changed criteria. Hoping for cup runs….
