I agree with you completely Surbiton and Trigg - oddly, we looked reasonably confident for a while after equalising, but being unable to take advantage of our brief period of superiority has once again cost us…. 🙄 Boxing Day could be embarrassing…..

Nice to see Anthony Joshua giving Jake Paul credit for his valiant effort in entering the ring against him - presumably Joshua could have finished the fight earlier if Paul had engaged, but with the event having a $300m purse, perhaps there was some contractual obligation to keep the paying viewers engaged for longer… 🤷🏻♂️

Bit of a weird mismatch but I suppose money talks when it comes to boxing 🥊 💰
That Bugiel penalty miss against Burton a real turning point but losing to Gateshead in the FA Cup a real frustration, could have at least given us something to look forward to in January.

We’re joint bottom of the form table (with Port Vale, who beat us) so things have clearly gone awry. I always look at goal difference as an indicator of whether a team will remain where they are in the table. Ours at -5 is the worst in the top half of the table and is actually the 6th worst in the division.

I don’t know what JJ should do about it tbh it looked last night like there’s no commonly-understood plan of what to do when we have the ball. Consequently we give it away cheaply and end up chasing shadows for too much of the game.
Bizarrely, as recently as November 22nd, if we had beaten Wigan at home rather than losing to them, we would have been just a single point away from top spot in the division - here we are, less than a calendar month later, and we could potentially be 15th at 5pm and 17 points off the top… Let’s face it lads, our season is busted flush….

Man City v Exeter tickets are only 20 quid so no one will be making a fortune out of that game

Jackson correct in saying we concede too many free kicks . Their 3 goals last all came from our stupid fouls
I sometimes wonder if there is any grey between footballers ears.

For their 3rd goal, I was convinced Browne committed a foul in their half, yet the free-kick was taken way inside our half.

Or was I not paying attention?
Exeter have drawn Man City away in the cup so Exeter will be able to strengthen!

In fairness, we all knew this season would be a struggle, but we're feeling it more now because results were masking our weaknesses which meant we were in a false position. A descent down the table feels worse than if we'd bounced around midtable from day one. Get some pace back in the team and we might be okay. But expect January will leave us worse off than every other squad bar perhaps Exeter. Not sure how much any manager can do tbh.

We have a squad our budget can afford , a purple patch at the end of last season along with a good start to this season we have now been found out. Jackson has run out of ideas as how to stop the decline. Defence is so poor, midfield cannot feed any decent passes to our blunt attack. Stevenage next game. Think i'll listen to TMS to give me a tonic later tonight.

Spit the Dog - the Mark Robinson-style slump has started at basically the same time as it did in that season (ie a good start then the slump starting after a poor FA Cup performance, though then we actually won in the First Round). You would hope that we still have enough to stay up (helped by the fact that we actually have a proper manager and a competent person in charge of recruitment- neither of which were the case last time) but it doesn’t look good at the moment.

Wonder if it’s time to give Hutchinson and particularly Hardbottle a start

We didn't look too bad in the first half but failed to use that momentum to get a 2nd goal. Northampton got in at half time and Nolan made a change, completely changed the game. Northampton on the front foot, we were to slow and started to go long again. Jackson took too long to react once again. Waste of 15 minutes. Nkeng looked really bright and was the only one willing to take players on but it was too late. Really disappointing against a fairly average team. Poor defending from set pieces costing us.

I bet JJ will blame the offside goal rather than us missing chances at 1-1 and not turning up in the second half. We desperately need a win.
