In what ways are, for example, Gillingham and Wycombe good investments when we are a poor investment? All are basically poor investments but people want the kudos, and possibly other benefits, of owning a club. There is no guarantee that anyone would be interested but they are more likely to be interested in investing for control than investing for no control whilst the cult of 'sacrosanct fan ownership' head the club towards administration thus making any investment worth zero.

There’s zero chance we will ever be able to fully sell. There club is set up in such a way that fan ownership is a sacred right. Only administration could lead to a sale and no doubt the fan-owned evangelists would find a way to set up another trust for fan ownership

I think if we are to sell (whatever that looks like) I'll be very surprised if that doesn't (at least indirectly) come via the John Green path. There is money in that consortium and he is good at selling our story, problem is he is a huge fan ownership advocate so any sale could be very likely to cap out at 50+1

I also want to re-iterate that I am not against selling - especially to secure the future of the club. I am less interested in selling for success but that is a decision for the whole membership. I just think people think it will be easier than it will be. Bury never got sold, Morecambe took 2 years and a relegation to be sold. Crawley got sold but have not progressed. For every one of those clubs we have Brighton, Brentford, Fulham, Birmingham and Wrexham who sold out and have been successful because of it. But these were progressed through rich fans and egos. What are our realistic chances of getting either of these - people seem to just think either will happen. Wigan had the journey but now have regressed to their natural position.

It is a minefield and we need to approach what we do next thoughtfully. There is too much sell out without thought and the fan-owned obsession could have us bankrupt.
Matthew Harding was a Chelsea fan so had a vested interest in investing in the club. The ad did not attract a businessman investing for business reasons and that is what we need as we are not a good investment. We need someone with ties to the club or someone on a big ego trip and the latter has better options in London - ie Charlton. The harsh truth is that the land is move valuable than the club and if we go tits up Merton/Wandsworth will probably rezone it for housing.

And if you think Labour are left then you do not understand politics. They are an authoritarian party who puts the rights of the elite and whoever is paying them this week over the needs of the many. They are genuinely nastier to the working class than the Tories. I would vote Tory over Labour in a heartbeat now - and I have never voted Tory in my life but with a gun to my head....
It would be a shame if absolutely nothing has been learnt since last time, ie moving into a new division requires a new way of looking at things and that includes the ownership and governance structure. At least this time there is a manager with experience of having previously managed at this level. But other things need to change too.

The far left commune running the club essentially have a business plan that is simply not working and never will. The far left and sound economics don’t go together. Look at the current Labour Govt as an example. Our only hope is outside investment, and it is possible despite the naysayers here asking “who on earth would buy into the club ?” Someone here mentioned Ken Bates. What did he do ? He put a quarter page advertisement into the FT seeking funding, and guess what ? Matthew Harding picked up the phone to him. This rabble running the show at Plough Lane need removing, and quickly.

That run could well stretch to quite a few more games yet. Their next game is at 13th placed Tamworth and the next 5 after that are against teams in the top half of the table. Today, they hit the bottom of the National league on goal difference after Truro picked up a point at FGR.

Agree with Changing Person. At the moment I can't see anyone else scoring a goal. He is frustrating but he is the only one we have who could just score a goal out of nothing / nowhere. So for that reason alone he has to play.

Browne is the most gifted player we have and our best chance of a goal from him or created by him. Yes he is greedy and moody and mostly his shots and dribbles don't become off and look awful at times but where else is the creativity

Gateshead was as clearer sign as any that our squad isn't up to. Absolutely scandalous that we lost to a team that is 2nd bottom in the National League and hasn't won a game (or even drawn) since.
