REPD - It is a bit odd to lose money on an amount owed to us by a supplier (as normally we would owe the supplier) but as you say it’s unlikely to put off an investor- at worst it will be evidence that we had poor controls or risk management at the time, but generally the investor will think that if there were such failures then they will do better and prevent them in the future. The key will be us being able to tell them why the loss happened and what we have done to stop it happening again.

Morning all. TBH unless the £400k was down to serious malpractice on "our" part I doubt an investor would run for the hills on seeing it. A supplier going bust and owing money (which I would imagine is the most plausible) isn't exactly unheard of

In other words, I don't think it's a deal breaker one bit. Just inconvenience.
I'm sure investors would be fully informed about the 400K, after all they will have signed an NDA so won't spill the beans to the hoi palloi.

Morning all. Lurker - Meadow’s comment about legal reasons I think is a myth (not a pop at meadow I just don’t remember any official communication as such) - if there is ongoing legal action then the costs would be massive by now as the £400k thing happenedwell over a year ago. It needs clarification otherwise investors may see the club as being financially irresponsible or negligent (or even worse) and that may well cause some of the more shrewd or careful ones to walk away or not even approach

Lurker, from what I can gather a supplier went bust owing us £400k. There could be other reasons but we can't be told for legal reasons. Yes I know that's a bit repetitive but I really CBA to rephrase it.

Padds, my parents and brother moved to Weston-Super-Mare in 2004. My parents are long gone but my brother still lives there. Loads of Brummies pop down there for a few days away because it's so easy to get to. Last June I was there and spotted a fair number of Birmingham and Villa shirts. I was wearing a Dons shirt so a few conversations were had.

I like that, Pete. Made me smile. A couple of years ago we were talking to a waiter in Verona. He said he'd had a Brummie girlfriend and how much he liked the people. We've found loads of Brummies and Black Country people in Somerset too. They come here for holidays as children and fall in love with it. They're lovely people aren't they? No side, as my mother would have said, not like us lot and Mancs.
