Happy memories of getting Steve Evans so wound up at KM that he was sent to the stands. A bunch of our kids were sitting near us and couldn't believe what the respectable old couple next to them were singing. 😃

Thank you, Mav, although I've no expectation of being allowed to read an unredacted report.

All that stuff around the election got a bit intense. I just needed a bit of headspace, particularly as I've been busy at work.

Trig - Yeah sorry. I've been taking a bit of a breather after all the excitement around the election. It's also been hellish busy at work. But I'm back in the game now.

Steve Evans looks an even tougher nut now he's lost several stone. He looks as if his first inclination would be to headbut you.

La Liga budget setting revolves around a strict Salary Cap (LĆmite de Coste de la Plantilla Deportiva - LCPD), calculated by subtracting a club's non-sporting expenses from its total revenue, ensuring financial sustainability and preventing overspending. Clubs propose budgets, which La Liga approves, with the limit dictating how much they can spend on player salaries and transfers; exceeding it triggers restrictions, like only reinvesting one-third of new income, though recent reforms aim for a minimum spending threshold.

From Google AI - this is what needs to come in. Club submitting budgets where spending is considered alongside revenue to set a workable budget.

Stu - I wonder what impact the Football Regulator will have on these sums of money? Also Financial Fair Play rules (hahahaha).
16th Dec 2025 10:57:35
[80.lo.gg.ed]
League One Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules, known as the Salary Cost Management Protocol (SCMP), cap player-related spending at 60% of a club's relevant turnover, with recent changes allowing owners to invest more initially but still within limits (e.g., only part of a large investment counts towards the cap) to promote sustainability and prevent overspending. Clubs submit accounts, and breaking these rules can lead to sanctions like registration embargoes or enforced business plans.
Really concerned me that the word sacrosanct was used around fan-ownership. The club has been in existent in many disguises for 136 years and only 23 of those have been under fan-ownership. How anyone says fan-ownership is sacrosanct when saying that owners in L1 put in around Ā£6m a year is crazy. I have always said we made the impossible, possible, however sometimes the impossible can’t happen as money don’t grow on trees around PL and to survive in the football world ypu do have to do what everyone else does.

DunDonald - you are correct. Private chats suggested £3000 a year, but that was toned down as it was thought it would frighten people away, and PLB with a one-off became the theme. :o)
